It doesn't need to be anodized. It may dull over time but can be lightly polished to bring back the shine.Another question. What is expected with the raw aluminum finish over time? Does it ideally need to be anodized?
Should clean, periodically, with no issues. Especially with a polished surface. Otherwise if you are concerned, can always shoot it with Eastwood Diamond Clear DTM.Another question. What is expected with the raw aluminum finish over time? Does it ideally need to be anodized?
N55 and S55 are $1k: https://www.ignitionprojectsusa.com...e9x-335i-f8x-m3-m4-etc-3-0l-l6-sku-ip-a122609Jesus why are they so much $$$. You're talking about more than the entire PR kit just for coils.
Remember we're talking about ignition stability here. Nothing more to be gained from coil upgrades.
I got my eldor b58 coils today. They come with the bolts already installed in the coils. Did you get get a shipping notice when your kit was shipped?Just got my kit! Just waiting on my coils to come in. Bummer world had Elsie could in stock if anyone is looking. Do we need to source the oem b58 coil bolts? Just realized they aren’t in the kit.
Order is still pending fulfillment. Thanks for the heads up on the bolts! I would have been on bmwfans getting p/n to order them.I got my eldor b58 coils today. They come with the bolts already installed in the coils. Did you get get a shipping notice when your kit was shipped?
That will be car dependent. I would increase by .001 intervals and see if the car likes it.Any advice with spark plug gaps with the added energy from the coils, is there a benefit from wideing the gap or go with the same gap as previously?
Gotta say that sounds tedious! That will be car dependent. I would increase by .001 intervals and see if the car likes it.
Yes, the two allen bolts hold it fine.I was wondering, on the VTT/Stock kit, are the two big screw enough to old everything in place ?
Shoot me your order number in a PM and I can give you an ETA on your kit. Thank you for your support!I got my eldor b58 coils today. They come with the bolts already installed in the coils. Did you get get a shipping notice when your kit was shipped?
You can try opening them up. I'm running 0.022" @ 23 psi (Gen 2 6266) at the moment with no problems.Any advice with spark plug gaps with the added energy from the coils, is there a benefit from wideing the gap or go with the same gap as previously?
Thank you for your support! Make sure to use those rectangular holes behind the coils to run your coil wires through once you have time.Nexsys kit arrived today. Had to take a trip to Orlando tonight for the weekend. Decided to install the parts before leaving. Quick and dirty install with changing the plugs maybe 30 mins. Car is definitely much happier. Very smooth. Plugs and coils being replaced maybe had 8,000 miles. My hope is, one less thing to worry about. Thanks, Bahn and Austin for a great kit!
Hey @Traf great question, the ignition coil boots themselves are supporting most of the weight of the coil and bracket. The two bolts are simply ensuring the coils cant be pushed off of the spark plugsI was wondering, on the VTT/Stock kit, are the two big screw enough to old everything in place ?
Those are insanely expensive and the claims of 4x more energy than stock is very suspicious for sure. If we could get a hold of one I can test them.
