From a buying perspective, know that Brembo stamps the rotor size application on the back of the rotor. So F8x M3/M4 and F3x m-sport blue calipers are the same - stamped "370/380" on that back which is 380mm on F8x and 370mm on F30.

This is from my working spreadsheet, which is hopefully correct. Shopping hint ... some times dismantlers will list part by model. So a wrecked F32 435i runs that same part number.

One other thing ... buying the finished blue calipers undamaged is no easy feat. Many get damaged by the dismantler, so take that into consideration when making the purchase. For those buying blue calipers, paint code 335 (Estoril Blue) will give you touch-up.

Perhaps Turner's documentation was written before that was available.

In this case, I'd suggest using the correct rotors or selling them and getting the calipers you need. The bushing made for the rears is a small compromise and people do it because there aren't any inexpensive alternatives.

If someone doesn't make a bush for the front the other option would be to have the ears milled off and have new ones made, but that isn't cost effective either.

Having the correct fitment on front would probably be more comforting as the offset bush might be more prone to deformation on heavy braking.

Good eye. Yes a carrier conversion. But I don't want to jump the gun on that until we've made enough progress that I can share information instead of misinformation :). We're probably a month out on that. @barry@3DM is about to get a bunch of CAD drawings out to sendcutsend to make some things we need for the whole rigamarole.

There are blue calipers from OEM that are 340, so probably shouldn't tell people if they are blue they are for 370/380. On the back of the caliper it usually says either 340 if they are for 340, or either 370 or 370/380 if they are for those. If they are grey and unmarked then they are almost 100% 340.


But back to the question, I don't know of anyone selling brackets or that has used 340 calipers with the 370 rotors, think you are either going to have to use the 340 rotors or sell them and buy the correct calipers.

At the time of writing in the referenced link, the calipers you are talking about did not exist.

@Illsic_Design, my research leans to grey calipers not being 370. If you've seen something that may be otherwise, I'd be curious to know.

I've never seen them personally but apparently they do exist, though I wouldn't buy a pair hoping to get them.

I have a 335is standard front rotor size is 348mm I cant justify going down to a 340mm front with a 345mm rear but apparently bmw did that on the 2series sport caliper go figure

Has anyone tried an OEM e60 rear brake disc with the excentric bushings in the rear caliper?

yes plenty of people on e90post have used e60 535i rear rotors with eccentric bushings. I have aftermarket e60 535i rotors and bushings that I will be using for my swap, just haven't got to it yet.

That's why you'd go with the M-Performance calipers which use a 370mm rotor, not the m-sport which are 340mm

Are spacers required for the fronts with the 230 style stock wheel?

No, those are the same wheel I have and there was no modification necessary. The rears with the e60 rotor will hit the spokes on the calipers however, I learned the hard way.

Keep this info flowing! I've been eyeing a set of these for the Z also instead of the Austin M perf calipers. They look nice but brake feel is meh based on the cars i've driven with them installed
