@RayBan Is there a way to get the Stage 3 flash in sport mode to automatically shift to 6th from 5th when gradually accelerating? It just seems like it doesn't want to upshift, and I catch myself manually hitting the paddle to shift to 6th.
Sport mode holds higher revs, so unles you're hitting the shift point, it's not going to go into 6th. If you're at the speed you want 6th, you're obviously at highway cruising sped, put it in D mode.

Maybe it would be a good idea for @RayBan to include slider-type adjustments on an options page when setting up the flash, like the way MHD does to allow some personalization of the TCU map?

This would be a good idea, although I'm not sure if the logic works the same as MHD does for the DME changes. My knowledge is slim when it comes to that. And then you'd also have millions of difference wants for those options. I think that's why @RayBan made it open so people could go in and edit maps to their own pleasure.

Aha! I didn't realize the xHP maps are open to us TunerPro hacks. Are they publicly posted somewhere to inspect?
(I've been sitting on the sidelines and haven't yet jumped in since I have the "good" Alpina flash and am pretty happy with D, S and M modes. But pretty soon I'll pull the trigger.)

Being able to tweak the maps ourselves with TunerPro will make it convenient for some of us. But I'd guess at least half of us would prefer slider bar options for functions like:
"Downshift Sensitivity when Accelerating"
"Downshift Sensitivity when Decelerating"
"Downshift Sensitivity when Moving Uphill"
"Upshift Sensitivity when Moving Downhill"
Etc.
I'd start with all sliders in the middle.
I think this will keep people more engaged with xHP.
And (-not sure if this is easily done-) it would be good for @RayBan to be able to collect that data for generating future versions.

Last I heard the OTS maps are locked, and there are tables used in the OTS that aren't available in the public XDF for TunerPro

What's the "good Alpina flash"?

Last I heard there were two versions of the Alpina flash, and some people were complaining about one and not the other. So since I have no complaints I figure I have the good one. :)

The idea is there, but as xHP is not a 335i-only platform (like MHD), but now supports dozens of BMW models and 7 TCU types with varying map positions, it's not straightforward to implement such a thing.

This is the reason that xHP is 'better' than Alpina. You can make an xHP tune which is identical to the Alpina configuration, and most likely, better.

Good point! But the xHP maps are locked, so I'd have to start experimenting with my Alpina map. Anybody tried modifying their Alpina map? If so, which tables did you start adjusting in TunerPro to make firmer and faster shifts in S/M mode? That's really where I'd want to try to make changes; to get more of a DTC feel (I once rented a Z4 35is with DTC and it was amazing!).

No I didn't get it to work yet. I am in the exact same boat as you with the exact same problem. When I flash back to stock sport mode is there, tried to install xHP and got the coding missing error, coded EGS and lost sport again but was able to proceed with xHD. Flashed back to alpinia and same situation. I have updated to the latest daten files (at least v55).
So what was the final outcome of this?? I haven't had my car for a few months and it's been down since I got it back. I wanna try one last time to fix this before I completely give up on it.

Well, I never got followed up by anyone on this. Normally, when people stop responding it's a sign things cleared up. Also we didn't got any notice from other customers on such an issue, so from our POV it's a specific fluke, not a general matter. There are A LOT 535i running in the meantime.

I know there for awhile I also thought all of the tables needed to be increased to keep from hitting a torque limiter. Not sure why or what others were doing at the time or if I might have caused some of the misconceptions looking for answers.

Bottom line I don't mess with those tables today and for good reason. I took queue from IKM0S and only increased the monitor ceiling. I only see issues with torque limit 4 when torque exceeds the torque limit values for the transmission flash. You can control torque actual by just scaling the L2T load axis and torque eff divisor (fuel) values. I know a lot of people change the actual table values, but to me that's a waste of time when your goal is only to smooth out and control the torque actual output value. For N54 AT cars I use 160/280 with a stock divisor. This provides a very smooth output value that can be easily controlled by changing the divisor values based on AFR. You can also scale the AFR values for the divisor if you need more range of control.

Sorry to reply to such an old post...

Thanks Ken. There are two more tables I'm wondering about (My car isn't going so I can't test):

Load Limit Factor
Torque Max (Index Array)

Can these also be left stock or should these be raised?

Cheers!

Id like to give an update on my xhp experience. First we'll have to give some background. Ive had xhp installed for quite a while, seeing as i was one of the license giveaway winners, and initially my state file was corrupt and i was locked out. So i worked with clemens and he fixed it and emailed it to me. After that the v1.0 stg2 map was great. Honestly i freaking love it. When they released the v1.1 i flashed it and had some issues launching. Ive read related stories about it being torque limits or something like that. But regardless i think i switched back to v1.0. It was so long ago that i dont remember. Everything ran fine for months. Recently i started having an issue where i would take off in 3rd gear anytime i put the vehicle in D. It was odd because it would only happen if i turned the car off for only a few minutes, say to go into a gas station then return. It would stay that way, launching in 3rd gear for about 3 or 4 takeoffs and then it would work correctly. So i figured maybe update the map. I connected my phone and it said license vinlocked to another vehicle. I was about to message clemens again when i realized- wait i already have the fix. So i redownloaded the state file and copied it to my xhp folder, boom problem solved. I go to hit flash and it says "please install xhp to the vehicle" i didnt understand because the tune was currently on the car, but i guess somehow redownloading the state file made the app not recognize the software on the tcu. So ive since reinstalled the tool, retuned my trans for v1.1 and im currently in the adaptation period. Ill update here if i have any further issues, but im posting this as a "be aware, theres an issue somewhere"

You can play around with them, but I have always set the Load Limit Factor to 0.100 and Torque Max (Index Array) to 110.00.

Load Limit Factor could be left stock without issue. But you might run into issues with the Torque Max (Index Array)

Torque Max (Index Array)
Used to look up the max torque value that the Requested Torque % tables can use.
Tuning Tips - Raise these values to 110 to remove limitations.

Load Limit Factor
Multiplier used for load calculation.

So which MHD tune should I flash? Stage 2+ AT or MT? I have the Stage 2 XHP loaded but have not driven the car yet. Right now car has the MHD Stage 2+ AT tune.

I read that the early 07 version is out, before I start buying the proper software, is there a note on which plate form will work? I need to firm up 6hp19 na car running nitrous, e60 chassis with sport mode. Thanks guys.
