My e60 is on stage 3. Flashed it pretty quick after it was released for e60. I'd like to update but because I got a new phone the app wants to do a backup again. Can this be avoided in any way? Also, is there a way to see what version of stage 3 I'm on before flashing?

I highly recommend you update, the tune has changed greatly, in my opinion.

Once the TCU has been backed up, you can't actually back it up again I don't think. It gets locked from reading, you need to get your old backup files, I don't think there is an alternative to this. There is one file that goes in the backup folder, and another file that goes in the xhp flashtool root folder, I had to do this a while back. Thankfully I managed to find my old backup I saved online.
