Finished bracing up the fitting and will be installing the hydramat soon.

Made the whole system plug and play for ease of changing fuel pumps just in case of failure or if a better fuel pump comes out in the future.

Nice simple design that works and I can't foresee any fuel starvation issues.

How about something like this for future projects? Held in place with a M4 set screw, has a -6 ORB thread to fit AN fitting etc.

Will have them on the site soon.

What ever works guys, looks like a good solution there.

I like the extra arm on mine with the clamp around the base of them pump, looks like the 295 locator/retention pin is too fragile to depend on and that is what made be make the extra support.

I'm not 100% sure but there is a limit on the depth in the tank too, I'm yet to test it since not depending on the pin to hold the fitting I could have made the whole thing at least 15mm shorter.

Wont work with our cars or at least the e8x and e9x hats, there is limited room under the hat and that fitting would make the whole assembly to tall to fit in the tank.

Any inline flapper valve would be good enough to do the job.

So had a chance to play with the fitting and the fitting wont work as it makes the whole assembly to tall to fit in the tank.

So I made a new custom fitting and it looks like its going to work perfectly and much better than before, Ill be able to
make the whole assembly adjustable to make the hydramat sit perfectly flat on the bottom of the tank.

This way I'll be able to suck the tank completely dry before seeing starvation even under the most extreme conditions at the track.

Post some pictures tomorrow.

Depends on how you set it up. If the lower OD of the tophat lip is ~7-1/8" when all is said and done, it'll work! Pump Radial alignment, output fitting dimensions/style, and trimming of tophat undersides as applicable all play a role here.

I'll post pics up tomorrow, the way I done it makes it as short as it's going to get in terms of overall height, you have to have a 90deg turn adapter of the bottom of the pump

It only leaves aroumd 1.5 inches spare under the pump without the fitting when all is fully compressed before it bottoms out on the bottom of the tank, so once you add the fittings and hydramat it adds about 2.5 to 3 inches to the overal height of the assembly with the 15 x 15 hydramat.

I'll show you what I mean when I post the pics

ok so i'm under a 1/8 of a tank and the hydramat is doing its thing, no fuel starvation thus far.

Waiting to get under the empty line and around 20miles left in the reserve and give it a squirt through the twisty bits but looks like it will be fine.

so has anyone successfully ran a 295 with a stock ekp and not triggered the draws more current code ??

im having the code pop up after i upgraded to the 525 pump and trying to figure out a way to remedy it without dropping 700 on a bpm4

I'm running the stock EKP3 with the 295 with no issues, cheaper to upgrade the pump I think but I'm also running the voltage fix on my ekp3

Voltage fix is through protools yes but only on the EKP3 I believe, not sure if you can do it on ekp2 but those units are crap and you should upgrade if you haven't.

As I have a custom fuel system I added AN 8 fuel check valve to stop the drain back, its an easy fix which will not hinder any flow from the pump.

I have no long crank.

do you have a thread with more information? I am going to install the 295 soon and just stumbled over this.

Is this the same topic as started from Jeffman?

if you go on the protools page on facebook there is a number of topics on this and explains how to do it or I guess you can turn it off in your tune going by that topic.

Protools is much easier.
