I’ve pulled the trigger after waiting a while for possible issues.
Installed it Saturday with a new hpfp, filter and vacuumpump cover seal and made the first pull. Feels very strong, however rail pressures dropping to 1100psi wich probably will be tuned out with the next revision.

Anybody tuning the HPFP tables themselves? Any suggestions on what to set the values to, assuming you have the XDF tables.

Oh yes definitely! The car feels great with Ken’s tune.
Only downside is that he is very popular and busy, so a new revision can take up to a week sometimes.
The Helix in combination with the flex fuel kit is a must have for me. I love it!

Well call me crazy but the red bracket did not fit on my 2010 E91 LCI.

As you can see on this picture, with the helix and HFPP lined up straight, the bracket won't fit the mount on the block unless you really really force it. That was not acceptable for me.

Since Spool dit not reply to mail or pick up the phone, I took an angle grider and fixed it myself :)

Everything's on decent without any tension. Nice rattle for the first minute on cold start. A tune will fix that.

Definitely would not call you crazy, but I'd be concerned with that much variance. At first I was thinking, did you keep all the bolts loose, attach the bracket, and then cinch everything down? But after looking at that grind ...... it's off by a country mile. Why is that?

Slightly concerning tbh, I have just received mine with bracket and filter etc mine is Pre LCI and hope I don't have this issue. It would be nice for @SpoolPerformance to shed some light on this, there service was really good even after it was shipped.

I ordered two at the same time, came in the same package. The other one fit perfectly on Jern54 pre-LCI car so i think the problem is limited to LCI cars. Maybe starting at a certain build date. But that all guess work at the moment. We will need more installs on LCI cars to know more. I haven't seen many (if any) of them yet.

I would think a comparison of relevant parts on real oem would give some indication.

Hi, I've been running the Helix for a few months and love it. However, my hpfp crashes sometimes during wide open throttle pulls. Sometimes to 900psi or lower. It wasn't happening everytime but now it happens often. I installed Helix end of March or beginning of April with my 13 year old original parts hpfp, hpf sensor, lpf sensor, EKM2 and a stage 2 bucket e85 lpfp. Initially, the hpfp pressure was ok but not where it should be. So about a week later, I replaced hpfp, hpf sensor, lpf sensor and got a stage 2 bucketless lpfp. After all that, the rail pressure wasn't much better. Now, it just crashes sometimes. My tuner said he maxed out the VCV tables to get the pressure higher. I also installed new index 12 injectors days ago. The o2s are new too.

I'm posting 3 logs. The 1st one is from a few days ago. The 2nd one is with original equipment after driving a day. The last one is how well the original equipment did on initial install. I havent advised tuner of the crashes yet because I don't think its tuning. I will tell him anyway. It happens on my personal maps I've made too. I dont get any fault codes. Its not the Helix because it was replaced also due to oil and grease leaking between the Helix and hpfp. Helix was great with replacing it and providing a gasket to seal the area.

Please help with any suggestions. I'm wondering if the ecu is doing this for whatever reason. Or something happening on the vacuum pump side. I'd hate to think it's the hpfp. Got it from FCP euro. The car is making a lot of power but still something wrong.

Does anyone know if the hpfp target homogen tables should be adjusted for the Helix. Something Spool mentioned to me. Im running E53.

Today my battery was at 9v so no start. Took to local parts store and they say battery tested and alternator test good. They saw a 5 amp drain. A month ago I replaced the ibs sensor and voltage regulator because the battery light came on due to low voltage. The comfort access door locks wouldnt work either. After replaceing ibs and regulator all was good until today. Im wondering if a voltage problem is causing the low rail pressure? If not, i guess the new hpfp is not strong enough. I did read on the VCV instructions that a bad regulator or battery issue can burn the valves?

You need to do either of these

Back off your boost

lower your E content

or go double barrel.

You might have half a chance to bring it back up by doing this

Your lpfp pressure is dropping get a bigger LPFP this will help with the hpfp pressure drop, judging by your logs you have a stage 2 using a 450lph
get a 535lph pump this will help a lot.

Pull out your hpfp filter out of the hpfp

Drill out your di fuel rail

Do the lpfp fuel line mod to get rid of the steel line

I appreciate your input but I think something else may be going on. I will consider the things you've mentioned. Im only running e53. Lowering it won't fix the problem. You may be looking at an old log. My lpfp stays above 70psi and sometimes 80s. It is the bucketless 450. How high should the psi be?

Today, I did a pull on my 15psi 93 octane map and it crashed in 2nd gear but came back up in 3rd. See attached log. So, boost and ethanol not necessarily the issue here.

If I remove the hpfp filter, won't I need the steel micron filter from Helix? Or are you saying no filter at all.

I'm not familiar with the fuel line mod and drilling the rail. Will need to research.
Been trying to charge battery. It appears to be dead. As soon as I take it off the charger, it drops to 10v. Charger says 13.4v but when I unlock door with charger still attached, it drops to 10v. I dont think it even got to 13.5v with car running after jump start. Ill get a new battery and see if it changes anything with the hpfp since the problem was intermittent.
