Precision 6466 Powerglide Setup

Just waiting for 1 fitting to get this going again. Just a 6an to quick connect for the fuel line and its running.

Then I can take to the dyno and do some testing.

Still have 2 months until first drag meet so I should have port injection set up by then.

Done a bit of work to the car since last posts on here.

Cars running fine.
Been logging map 1, 2 and 3.
Pump fuel
Spraying water with around 20% that was still in the tank.
34 degree C.
Making 18psi (suposed to make 23 but not sure why its only 18)
Still goes quick.

Video of wot in 1st and 2 gear ( it only has 2 gears)

Rpm at different speeds for a powerglide with 3.08 diff
40km 1600rpm
60km 2000rpm
80km 2200rpm
100km 2600rpm

Had a crack at using the trans brake with a bit more boost. Last time i just went wot for a couple of seconds this time I got it spooling up.

Its only a small turbo so it makes boost straight away.
Makes 10psi at 4000rpm and just lights the tires up and goes straight to 18psi.

It will have no problem spooling up in time at the drag strip.

Im taking it to a dyno in a few days to check the tune and transmission under some load.

Running e85 flash e60 fuel.
Not going to run much boost. Map 1 might be the limit, map 1 is 17psi on the e85 map.

I think its a bit better for the engine to put e85 in and low boost compared to push high boost on lower octane fuel.

Current parts list:
Turbo stuff
6266 gen2 .84 AR (very small ar)
Wastegate 50 turbosmart plumbed in
Small exhaust 3 inch into twin custom 2.5 inch with x pipe muffler

Plazmaman 1000hp fg ford 76mm intercooler custom made
3 inch pipe from turbo to stock inlet manifold
No bov
Small meth nozzle cm3 300cc running 50/50 at dyno

Fuel
2 ti 274 pumps
-8 lines from fuel tank to hpfp reduced to the tiny 5/16 quick efi fitting

Going to dyno Monday. Really just checking transmission but will be on the dyno.

Went a drive this arvo.
e60 17psi, 6 degrees adv, bit of water meth
Afr good
hpfp holding 1200psi (weak point obviously)
Lpfp no worries 72psi all day
Iat low and they really move

Goes allright

Im looking forward to the first drag meet.

Did a bit more logging.
HPFP is on the edge on this map.
Map 1, e85 flash.

Makes 17psi and is a bit of fun but falls of a bit after 5500rpm.

The Ford barra intercooler is working well pretty impressed not bad for $1100 aud and $30 parts for a bracket. ( had to custom make end tanks, free as i diy)

ou see anything else I should be looking out for let me know. Im not sure why its not hitting timing targets of 9 degrees up top its around 2 deg lower.

Update.

Gearbox good
Not going back to mechanic.

6266 spools up quick and hard.

Theres some headroom for a larger turbo with a transbrake and main duty to drag racing and roll racing.

So I got a bigger turbo.

It wont go that fast without port injection but it will be on soon. Limiting factor will be the engine.

Heres a video looking at my current parts installed. Next stage will be stage 4 DAW turbos lol.

Exciting to see an N54 built properly for the strip, with a trans brake to boot. Seeing another car with an old drag trans and knowing you can buy adapters now if you really want makes this swap so tempting.

I want to keep a BMW trans in mine just to keep the BMW DNA in tact and because the ZF trans really is excellent when it comes to shift times, but it's very frustrating knowing that so few people are interested in developing a trans brake for it - especially when the guys who know the most about the 6hp21 (xHP) have no desire to even help those of us who are ready and willing to test and do the legwork.

Its a big turbo dude.
There are a few aussie cars around with these. 900rwhp to over 1000rwhp with Autos at around 40psi, manuals read about 100rwhp higher.

Its a big ass turbo. Even at 800 that going to be lots of fun (even if short lived)

Wrecked a tyre. Cause its to big and need to add some camber to make it fit.

How good is antilag! Ripped a few 17psi 1st and 2nd gear goes pretty hard.

Put a temperature sensor in transmission.

I thought I could hook the output wire to jb4 but it has 2 wires so not sure what im going to do.

Might have to pay 300 to get a sensor and gauge kit.

Im not sure if the drags will be on this wknd anyway.

Had to get a temperature sensor gauge after popping a fuse in eco box.

Trans runs pretty cool.
Couldnt get over 75 degrees celcius with around 10 wot runs and 40km drive. I did 2 trans brake launches 17-20psi and it only went up 5 degrees a celcius.

After doing a few runs this morning I pulled the 6266 turbo and put a 7675 on.

I spent most of the day working on it.

Still need to plumb in the turbo to intercooler pipe but it was an easy swap and will be running tomorrow.
