Oil discussions always turn into something akin to a religious debate.
Tony uses Amsoil. I use Motul in my old car (stock motor, high mileage). We believe in using good oils and changing them often.

So whats the verdict?

I wouldn't run 10w60, the toerences are so tight on these motors cold start ups could cause damageI wonder if any of the fcp euro oils would be any good? They list Rowe 10W60 HIGHTEC RACING Motor Oil but I have no idea if it's considered on the level of royal purple etc. The price is irrelevant if you can return it for more.

Exactly that's why their v8s and 10s had problems cause they where running to high of a viscosity and eventally dropped them down to a 5w30Agreed twice the viscosity at 40C compared to a 5w40 oil. I imagine it'd be problematic once you start getting to around 0C temps.
I was just checking fcp the other day to see if I could get motul. It seems the only thing I slightly trust on there is bmw twin power.I wonder if any of the fcp euro oils would be any good? I live in the desert, so we're lucky to ever see snow. Has only happened a couple times in the last 13 years I've lived here.
Even so, I'm not afraid of trying different things, I want to take a look at this Brad Penn Grade 1. According to this Forced Performance chart, they list the 20w-50 and the 10w-30 but not the 10w-40. Also says there is a strong detergent in the 10w-40(And maybe the others?). Any ideas why the difference/exclusion? Perhaps they just don't list all the oils.
Which viscosity do you use? What is your climate? The FP Oil Chart is old (like really old) and likely just doesn't have all the newest options. FP are good guys and are right up the road from Cobb, you can email them and get the real answer from the horse's mouth. I'm running the Brad Penn Grade 1 right now. Real odd looking oil however cause it is dark green when new.
