Do you know the exact model of the scanner they used? Just curious.
Not without asking. Does that info help you somehow?

I’m also somewhat in the market. What scanner do you have that you don’t like?Yeah, I'm in the market for a good handheld 3D scanner, the one I have is utter crap. Their scan looked pretty clean so I though I might ask.

From my very basic research it seems this is what I'd consider first:

Same here! Just can't cant get over the hump on just figuring it out on my own and how-to videos just don't seem to do it for me.If I could chisle out more time to learn fusion 360 I might invest in something like that. I'd need it to make financial sense.
I have the structure sensor with an iPad pro and love it. I use it to scan clients homes before I do a 3D render of their new layout. The measurements aren't always as precise as I would like, which would worry me when using it to scan a VC.I tried to go the under $2k mark getting a Structure Sensor and an iPad Pro. I have used Faro scanners before, but $60k is out of my league personally.

Unless I’m mistaken, which is very possible. I haven’t done any work with scan to model in years, but most meshes were used to the create new sketches and models from to create standard radii, chamfers, lengths, etc. if there is better software now, I’d certainly be happy to hear about it.It does get me a rough estimate that I can import into CAD as an STL, but the accuracy is just not there where I need it. My other complaint is that it can't seem to find a good way to convert the mesh from triangles to quads which would allow me to convert the scan to a solid CAD models.
....unless you know a better way....

I’ve never tried to convert the mesh since I just use the skp files. They come as a complete 3D model, then I go in and edit them. Only converting I do is skp to dwg for final construction documents.
SKP file, is that a Sketch Up Pro file?
I've never tried that way before.
This is very intriguing. Any chance you could do a short video tutorial on this, or instructions and images?I’ve never tried to convert the mesh since I just use the skp files.
