If this is on stock turbos, then thats pretty impressive, as you're essentially making FBO power at stock boost levels. Which is good for longevity, or you can now turn it back up to 18 psi and run it even faster. Right?

Was there any top end gain after porting on stockers? Or does it still nosedive after 5.5K?
Nobody ports a head to stay on stock turbos.
Why ? Because the power limitation caused by said turbos.

I am on Hydra performance HP650s. They have a bigger turbine housing. So not stock at all. In my built thread i posted many details.

Wish it had better top end from factory... Can't have everything I guess.

Comparing to the VQ37 for example, that head flows much better. It has to since its N/A. Though I think I just expected more out of the N54, considering its a 3L TT. the VQ37 can pretty easily hit 330-340whp with a simple intake, exhaust, de cat. Meanwhile the N54 struggles to get past 380whp at 16-18psi on stock turbos, and they fall on their face past 5500rpm, and its unreliable. I guess I just don't see the appeal of the N54?
Someone tell me the VQ part is a joke, 340whp NA? FROM A VQ??? No chance lmao, unless we running a 50 shot

His cars low n slow, Brotha rides in style subs bumping.
I ran into a guy at the gas station a couple of nights ago. He said he never heard another n54 sound like mine and even got in a push-up stance to look underneath to see what I had done with my exhaust. After that I turned on the radio for him and he damn near shit his pants cuz I let him sit in the car 😂😂😂.
Said he never seen/heard of a 335i like mine 😂😂😂

The VHR37 is a gem of a motor, have one at the shop that does 800+ @ 19psi on pump gas. Turbos are good for 1100, but I haven't pushed it higher due to a complete and utter lack of traction.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, the motor on my 1er makes 100+bhp/L @ 0psi boost THROUGH TURBOFOLDS while making peak power @ 7650rpm. Will be releasing a video spilling the beans shortly, but in the meantime here's a teaser to whet the appetite ;)

That thing looks insane, you're revving it to 7650rpm? Is that the stock valvetrain?

The VHR is a nice motor, I just don't like the Z and G chassis, hence why I'm looking into an E82.

No, I'm revving it to 8100, it just happens to make peak power @ 7650 - according to the dyno at least. And there's nothing stock about my entire top end.

Agree with your assessment above, great motor, mediocre cars. They do take a lot of tire though, unlike the narrowbody E82.
