To clarify further, what I've personally seen trying to get IKM0S on 335is with its original MSD81, IKM0S full writes successfully and shows "IKM0S" under HW, but the current ZB defaults to my factory 335is ZB with it. I've assumed that this is because 1M ZB is not in the 335 chassis/sw chain so it defaults to original ZB as a fail safe. Address blocks used don't match rom = fail.

1M ZB I've been testing with is 8619150 (N America 1M).

When there's a 135 ZB as original/DME is originally from a 135, it DOES recognize the 1M ZB correctly as current software after flashing and works. Pete's originally a 135 DME in a 335 after Euro IKM0S flash (8619148). 135 ZB original->IKM0S flashed->MHD stage 0 flashed:

I can't find the info on the re-pinning of the shifter. Help please?

2.56:1 vs 3.15:1
around 80% of the standard diameter .... or have I got that the wring way round ?
Somewhere in the issues thread @dyezak made the initial discovery and did all the mathematical calculations that proved his final drive theory.

I think it would be the other way around. At 3.15, the TCU would expect to see a wheel speed slower than if running a 2.56 so the tire would need to be larger ??

Quite a bit larger I think. Even if tried to hit 2.91 it would need a 28.4" tire (assuming original tire is 25")

2.91/2.56 * 25" = 28.4"

Anyone got 21" wheels for my Z? :fearscream:

Sounds like he’s recommending different tyre sizes to accomodate the change in ratio. Not sure where but this I feel was discussed before and it was stock software. Hope I’m wrong

No, pretty sure he's offering a modified dkg flash. He's just saying that slightly different tire sizes won't ruin the 3.65 ratio tuning.

I've had multiple email discussions with Oliver.

He claims to have access to the necessary keys to sign the software so it can be flashed normally. But he never responded to any queries about pricing after I asked him about the t what was possible. See this from over a year ago:

There's so much useful information in this thread. Super grateful!
Let me share some more info for the other Z4 owners, found this guy on instagram, volikalex. He has a Z4 with the M3 DCT conversion so I asked him how did he do it.
He said he only needed the gear selector and the M3 GTS flash. He had someone re-program his Sport/comfort buttons to "clutch" -not sure what he's on about here, DSC perhaps- and that he didn't need to swap the diff ratio.

This would be interesting to try and understand more. Things get tricky if there are language barriers but you can't also discount that he might not have the ability/experience to tell the difference if the ratio behavior was bad or good.

Thanks for the info. Are you going to reach back out to him to get additional clarification?

I doubt that he'll tell me more. He didn't even answered until I started guilt tripping him :))
Maybe you guys contact him as well and ask him too?

I think he'd probably know. His other car is a subaru doing 8.4 1/4 mile.

Hopefully soon I'll get a GWS module and a drivelogic button so I can have a go at this too.

@NoQuarter , what progress have you made on your Z with the GTS flash if you don't mind me asking?

If he’s a quarter mile kinda guy the car would behave really well, slamming into gear on upshift. The issue is lazy shifts up high in terms of speed and rev matching on downshifts.
