Your pic matches the diagram above.

2 is from the DME
3 and 4 are larger wires for power
1 is a lower amp power that is connected with the thermostat.

Your measurements seem correct to me.

Thanks!
When i was below the car i could hear the wp making some strange tic-tic -like noice when it was supposed to be running..
So i guess the next step would be to pull the wp, which i will continue with now..

This is the same failure we see when it fails permanently. You just happen to have something more borderline that is sensitive to heat in the control board.
Because yesterday i hooked up INPA once the wp was not working, i sent the command to the WP for 5% speed and for 1second i had 5% speed of the wp, which lowered the water temperature by ALOT, after that second of operation it turned off again. I then tried 5% again and 50% without any reaction..
This screams something in the electronics is getting hot and checking out. I'd pull the pump.

This is not a wiring harness issue - at first the intermittent behavior would make one think that it could be, but the above for me points to bad solder joint or component that is not handling heat.

If i would replace the pump without clearing he 2e81 and 2e82 codes, would the new one still start?
This morning I tried to run the pump through inpa, when the car had been sitting for the night, without luck.
However I did not clear the codes, which is why I'm wondering.

I don't think the codes would prevent the pump from coming on.

Otherwise, an intermittent error would cause the codes then the pump would never work again. Similarly, if the codes existed then trouble shooting would not be possible.

One moment it’s the bsd cable in the trunk powering your water pump.

Now you’re saying it’s a fuse in the DME.

Whatever ...

It does in fact provide power for my pump 2007 e90, why would i make up such a thing? Pull the cable from the power distribution box.then check power to fuse in dme. Large 50 amp.0vdc.plus you will get the codes OP is showing. When you open the distribution box, you will find non replaceable fuses. Check to make sure this is tight. The hard acceleration caused my battery to slide and made this connection fail randomly. TONY.Its great to add more suggestions, however it is counterproductive to kill useful leads.

Fuse is up front, power source in the trunk.Notice it is in the second slot. This is because slot one(non replaceable fuse link) burned out. If you get off your computer pop open the red cover. You will see what i mean.

If you understood electrical, then you would know every fuse has a source. Why dont you check for your self. Its not in the dme, but in the same box.

Well... To be fair, you did say "then check power to fuse in dme". Anyone looking to make a point will take that literally.

Anyone who has read you posts long enough knows to work out what you are trying to say and not what you actually typed out

Hey now... not everything in the Z is tiny. You see that long front end we have?
You ain't joking. First thing @barry@3DM said when he drove it ... the nose is so long. But we are just buying insurance, Jim, should the dual HPFP project not come to positive fruition. Lots of room for an LT4 swap. :imp:

Today i fitted a brand new VDO/Continental/Siemens WP.
Guess what, didnt fix anything....
This is the behavior i get from the wp when i try to run the bleeding process.

Any ideas before i start tearing it appart and selling it as scrap/parts?
