For people that would use the Bosch B58, because of the lack of availability or price for the Eldor ones.
Can dwell be set at 3ms peak instead of 3.2 ? There isnt much difference in spark energy for the Bosch B58 between 3 and 3.2ms, but it generates more heat.

There is a shortage of Eldors? I see Steve at www.euroklasse.com selling them daily for like $175.00.

Of course you can get them from BMW, but they are almost 50€ a piece...
I wonder if Hitachi's are any good ?

Bahn or anyone else help please, apologies for posting in the wrong thread.

My new B58 Eldor Coil packs arrived a couple of weeks ago and I'm almost ready to order the Nexsys Adapter Plate. But I noticed there are 2 options for the valve cover type. As I have the stock cover now, but want to upgrade to the VTT cover in about a year. Does this mean I will need to buy a new adapter plate when I get the new cover ??.

No, it is for both.

Would be great to see a IGN1A coil in this test since it would be a useful industry benchmark for performance coils. I assume very similar to PR performance, although advertised spark durations are longer than what others have here in this test.

OK, So to be clear if I go ahead and click on the option for Stock Valve Cover. Then it should still be good when I get the VTT Valve cover then ?.
Correct :)

The IGN1A is a smart coil so it will require a logic shift like the R8 coils to operate. I can pick one up for testing though :)

IGN1 or 1A then, be interesting for your test rig to validate the advertised performance of either, particularly the long arc durations of 3.2 and 2.9 seconds respectively. My interest is from a stand alone ecu point of view. I would have used a coil like this but since your b58 COP results are so good makes those options less attractive.
