EMP TUNING, moving the discussion out of the shadows

I had a friend who contacted aj and he had the balls to say he wrote the mhd maps. Luckily my friend didn't choose to tune with him. It's a shame to see someone do this to people, but i guess that's what greed does to you.

I was rolling on the floor about this. I make all the N54 maps for MHD. Funny how 6 months ago AJ couldn't make a flash map for his own car, then two weeks later he said he scrapped the maps Jake and I gave him and wrote his own from a stock bin file. It's one lie after another with that guy.

BTW, 3 months ago he contacted me about getting an N55 map because he had never flashed tuned one before. I'm sure he is a proTuner now after BMS released a few maps for him to test on customer cars.

Still in the research phase. I'm trying to find an mt e92 n54 that needs turbos as a project car for myself.

I have acess to very high end 5axis mills(matsuura) and high end cam software (hypermill).

I've already made my own wastegate parts and they have 50,000km on them no rattle and I'm thinking about machining my own compressor wheels for fun. Possible other turbo components and of course machining oem housings, chra's and compressor housing to accommodate the upgraded parts.

I will post a thread about it when i get my project car hopefully this spring.

He does all this, posts no graphs for his runs, nor any real tangible evidence he even knows what he is doing, but people still do not question his results...

As a personal rule of thumb, I don't trust any pro tuners that don't do any sort of pro or semi pro level racing backed up with real world laptimes or 1/4-1/2 mi times.

With N54, pretty much anyone can build some Dyno queens and win some bullshit highway pull street race and then advertise them on social media.

I watched that video and knew something is fishy abouT him. His demeanor reminds me of Tony on that awful modbargin video lol.

Wonder if those budget bummer guys are still using EMP. Granted, they were using JB4. So those stolen BMS backed flash might actually works ok for them.

Make sure if he has not done it, to send his turbos to us for inspection. Many times a blown motor can, and will harm turbos. Better safe than sorry. His motor is out, now is the time.

Too late. Car is back up and running. I told him to take it easy for a few days and then change the oil again before we start tuning the car.

I hired AJ last year in the beginning of 2017 to tune my 08 135i, and quite frankly there are sooo many strikes against this clown that I'd be hard pressed to fine one to sum it all up. I literally spun my wheels all year long with this kid. From all sorts of CEL's to hardware failures I had to go through. I finally pulled the fuckin JB4 out and cut my ties with this clown. The car was never setup correctly and it was nothing short of a nightmare. I will say this to AJ if he's reading this, karma is a toothy rabbid dog.
I questioned this kid on on many things, and the answers were either ignored or never clear at all. However, he always re-assured me that we were moving forward. What angers me the most was how he can take advantage all of the people who he "tuned" burned in the past and any possible engine damage done to my car. Some of this is my fault because I didn't do my research thoroughly on him before hand, plus I was new to custom tuning. He begged me on FB to tune my car and I fell for it. Here are some of the follow-up logs I've sent him in the past:

I feel like part of his business model was to sponsor tunes to many people who are in positions such as admins of Facebook groups or he saw having built motors/YouTube accounts. It seems like a very large crowd of people who really don't understand tuning, but are highly involved with the platform, are used and given freebies to drive others to him. I've not seen any of their tunes so maybe they are better, but I have a cache of 6 customers now all the same story. Maybe 2 degrees changes to vanos, 4 degrees more timing (!!!) but all BMS base maps, some flash only.

I do hope he spends some more time developing on his own car and tests tables without using others work if he doesn't understand it. And I don't think I'd accept excuses for not posting logs from novice tuners or people new to the platform anymore, on any platform for that matter. I think that would help weed this stuff out some. I'm very glad MHD limits who they give licenses to for tuning to more than just paying a price.

I wish everyone saw as you did then it would eliminate alot of the terrible tuners that have surfaced or have been shadily tuning cars for quite some time for our platform.
