Try changing the cic module to pl5 instead of pl2 it will allow you to control the dsc from the cic but not sure if it will work with the m3 module.

KOMBI, DSC, GWS, and ancillary modules all in with zero issues and errors. I now get new interesting behavior during shifting in 3-4, and 4-5. If I am WOT I get a nice firm shift as would be expected. The shift is firmer the higher you get in the RPM range. I've got some video's of the 3-4 shift and I'm breaking tires loose (DSC light) at 80mph. I *need* to rewire the DSC button though because the 335 button goes through the JBB and won't work on the M3 DSC. So some of the other odd behavior may be from torque reduction requests due to DSC intervention (because I can't turn it off without the button). I'm not going to make any final calls until the button functions.

I'm with you there! I've already pulled the wiring harness apart for the center console buttons and found DME pin 13 for the power button and DSC pin 41 for the traction control button. I've also got the M3 single push tyre pressure reset button in the dash already :) I'll just have to take the wiring on later as I spent a day in the garage and need to take the family out for family time tomorrow.

Good stuff mate, your basically home. See not that bad, just balls and a little help here and there which we can all use at times.

Your breaking traction as gts = animal shifting

So the just test LC, LC adjustment and cruise.

Well done.

That's an interesting point but I've never known it to be an issue. What in particular are you referring to in pl5 that's absent in pl2 ?

When you change it to pl5 you gain a dsc menu in the cic. And it actually functions. But all the mdrive menus will be gone. I found it while I was messing around with stuff.

I've not tried as the m3 dsc is a direct switch to the dsc and is not processed through the jbbf but worth tinkering with.

With m3 dsc you really need to switch off the jbbf dsc button and enable the rpa ok the dash.

The DSC alone didn't do shit. It was a lot of work, but alone, it was just kind of useless. Otherwise you are correct. And also remember, I'm breaking the tires loose on the 4th gear shift because I have the factory 2.56 open diff in...and the M3 DSC doesn't have e-diff features. So I am one wheeling it.

Derek,

Did you happen to mention to me you had a 3.85 pumkpkin as well ?

Once you tie up these little loose ends we can get cracking on that issue as well.

Hell, why stop here.

@ Sasha, things move quick brother, lots of notes to add if you guys are gonna write this up and put it out there. Probably best to wait until it's all 100% done.

I'll take on writing the outline, and putting in key elements if you want...then let you polish it up.

Is it possible to make the M3 TCU software play nicely with the 2.56? I really prefer the taller gears
