What do we all think this - It may be time to do a re-learn on the clutches. Im reticent in advising that though. It may have been a contributing factor this whole time. Should we engage a clutch subject matter expert at this point ?

I brought that up a while ago because it seems like the clutches need to be 'relearned' by the EGS module? https://bmw.spoolstreet.com/threads...ng-to-m3-flash-and-gws.3011/page-3#post-35674

Wonder if that's part of the problem, just like you. Seems like the system doesn't know how to interact with the clutches. When I had the GWS installed I did *NOT* try to shift at WOT, only with partial throttle.

Guys,
Someone needs to encode the egs with mdct settings and then run all adaptation resets for engine box, everything.
It should work.
And also try the mechatronic replacement measure and reset learning functions.
This should definitely do the trick.

Also with regular cruise and acc if they don't work there is a trick / work around that will fix it.

Basically you recode everything with no cruise at all, this will store all the default value needed for it but not be active. After that you and the cruise functions to the vo and and make the adjustments via notodata coding only, this will fix cruise and acc if you have it. I've only seen this on one case buying worked a treat.

This is similar to my current scenario. I have an M6 kombi in my 535 so I can get the oil pressure gauge and pretty colors. I got the oil pressure to show correctly, etc but the cruise control has never worked. I get a can error from the DCT if I remember correctly.

Man, this is exactly what I thought needed to be done when I originally performed the GWS swap-over. We were all concerned with premature clutch wear due to adaptation reset. I didn't have ISTA/P installed so I couldn't easily perform the steps. Reverted GWS to be on safe side. :(

What does the M3 DSC provide at this point? Is it required for MDM or to use MDCT?

The teach- in procedure triggered something for me. This pdf calls put all the reasons for resetting the mdct. Start on page 52.

I've read this PDF before but didn't think to check those pages. Great to bring this back up! The PDF also mentions torque intervention:

I really hope this is just a learning problem... Our fear of prematurely wearing out the clutches has caused us to induce slippage, which has prematurely worn out the clutches.

EDIT: You beat me to it

That’s the hypothesis but it needs to be tested. @dyezak might be able to try. What if it’s not that though ? Aside from final drive could it be anything else ?

well shit. i feel stupid now lmao.

do i need to do this as a 335is or an m3 or does it matter?

You don't know what you don't know brother.

Nah it should not matter. Ista will use the VO from the CAS for identity not the nfrm, but I think think it will matter. I usually go on 335 since it suits the box.
