Ok so tomorrow i will trpubleshoot why i dont get the gws to light up. All wires r in and all should b good to go yet not working.
I will do the flashing with computer versus phone see if that change anything.
I dont see the szl either. On the protool. So idk why i can t code the clock spring yet.
Engine and all should b all assemble togetgwr tomorrow. So if i find the issue on cables i should b back on the roadthis weekend

When I did this mod in 2018 I ran into similar situation:

Thx. Mine was blown too. But still not fixe my issues.
I have a 335i 04/2007 AT.
Can someone help me with the wiring. I want to swap to m3 gts, i have an m3 gws not lighting, m3 szl not showing either on my protools, m3 dsc communicates (repinned the new sensor) but need to wire the dct switch, and the power to DME. Park should work, i repinned the wire that should b and to where they should connect. But no change yet. I assume due to gws not lighting up.

As i troubleshoot, i saw i am missing some wires on the blue connector 6031pin 3-4. All other wires i moved around and repined to match were they needed to be.

Well i work on this all day. Trying to find why i dont get the gws to iluminate. I dont see it on protools or inpa.
Please help. I have a feb2007 335i AT. I am going to a DCT with M3 GWS, M3 clock spring, M3 DSC swap. Car starts. Park lock does not work. M3 GWS not identified/working. M3 Stalk buttons or levers not working...
I followed the AT to dct dyi. And dct to m3 gts.
But lots of the wire were not matching the dyi. So i am still looking where do the x6031 pin 3-4 go to so i can wire them bcz they r missing.

Best advice I can offer is to convert to DCT without errors first then attempt the M3 conversion.There are people who have done the dct conversion but the same people aren’t typically the same ones that have done an M3 conversion. You’re attempting both at once and there be dragons !

I certainly agree with this advice. A lot to tackle at once.

Problem continues to b the same at least on the wiring side. I have 2 cables on the oem dct that do not connect to any on my vehicle side. On x6031 the blue connector pin 3-4 have none on car side. But on tranny side there is 2 cable pins, they go to tranny plug pin 6 and 8. Pin 2 on the x6031 tranny side going to pin 7 on tranny plug is not in there on the oem harness i swapped. 🤔

What vehicle was transmission harness from that you used during the install?

What color are the 2 wires on x6031 pins 3+4?

AJL i have no idea what car it came out of. But i got the tranny running. Now i need the coding part of it. maybe have a wire still not write the gws does not light up. But it does work.
Is it there a good compiled coding dyi. Or anyone that can help remotely?

So i solved most of my issues. But a cpl:
- I can t stay in N after shutdown the car. (Doors r closed and car is in N before i shutoff or gear no matter goes to P)
- code A6D9 (assume my rear windows and trunk do not open)
If any has experience with that and have solutions please help.
(I did the swap form 07 335i AT, i used the brn/pur wire for parking) and moved it in X6031 to pin 8 or 9 to pin 1) vs as shown on some dyi the white and blue that shows moved to x6021.
Anyone able to help me troubleshoot?

@Begood69 the car is supposed to automatically go into park when the ignition is turned off. I don't see why the behavior would be any different on the M3 hardware.

I think i got my solution. Thx to @AJL .. so here is the problem on comfort access when shutting down the engine no matter if on gear or if N.. the gws goes to P.
Reason: N should be the only position when u shutdown the engine it should stay in N except on without having the key in the ignition. That s why it goes into P.

Solution: insert key into ignition hole then if u have the gws in N before turning off the gws will stay in N not going to P unless u remove the key and or open the door then goes to P again.
that s what i need to go and do the step 4-5 in the relearning procedure. See attachment

So, I spent quite a bit of time on the wiring diagrams, mapping out the harnesses, both DCT and 6AT and comparing it to the diagrams that ncat10 has provided. I'm still learning how to navigate that newtis site, but I believe I can make the GWS harness without going through the firewall and into the ECU box at all. Out of the 10 pins for the GWS connector, 4 go to local sources under the shift plate. Three more can find their destinations by repinning the existing wiring which goes into the ECU box for the 6AT stuff, and three more wires I'm pretty sure can find their destinations on the Junction box.

I might be completely wrong here, but I'm hoping I'm right because it would actually simplify the process of making this harness quite a bit. This also does not work with all versions of the car, basically you need to be MSD81, I'm not sure of what other limitations there are but I wouldn't recommend attempting this unless your car came from the factory with an MSD81.

It is late, I'll do more actual checking later, before I attempt to do this so I don't fry my TCU, CAS, FRM and who knows what else.
