Purchased akebono pads, have yet to install them. Im hoping they have little dust, i dont really care if they squeal. My oem squeal at parking lot speeds, and theyre dusty as poop
So stop tech is the way?
so I just changed all 4 sets of pads on my 2004 525i as well as both the front an rear wear sensor, from what I could tell when I had everything off the rotors looked as well as felt fine, there is only 122k on the car so even tho it has some years on it it hasn't been driven much. Anyways the rotors looked an felt fine so I didn't think I needed to change them or resurface them this time around, however it has been maybe 500-700 miles since changing my pads and now the front right wheel is squeaking like it does when the break pads are wearing sometimes, it started doing it loud enough for me to notice during a turn one day an now it seems to do it more often when it gets hot under light breaking as well as sometimes when turning, visually it doesn't look like the pad has worn that much but I recently got my tires rotated and im almost positive the noise didn't start until after that was done, do you think this would be my rotors needing to br replaced or something else less expensive that I can check first?
Need a micrometer caliper and just go by the minimum thickness listed for your rotor. I don't have a specific link, sorry.would u happen to know a link to a good diy regarding the thickness of my rotors? I figure I'll check that first to be sure then go from there.
I just installed ECS two-piece drilled and slotted rotors and Cool Carbon S/T pads in the front / Cool Carbon in the rear, stock calipers. I think my bedding in procedure must have been terrible (a series of 70-50 mph light and medium braking immediately after installing) as I started to get strong front shuddering in the steering wheel.
Any suggestions?

Thanks. The Cool Carbon instructions with the pads say to do 70-20 repeatedly at low, medium, and hard braking. I was on the highway and couldn’t slow down to 20mph. Stupid me. Live and learn.Rebed starting with 25mph to 10, then 35, 45, 60. Do 3 each.
Heard of this a few times with ecs 2pc which is why I went with RB.
