Following this guide, I have my 335is with M GWS and DriveLogic.

My DCT is NOT happy though; upshifts are a meandering mess that eventually settles into gear but applying any throttle causes it to fluctuate up and down like crazy.

@dyezak How long did your DCT take to adapt? Did you force adaptations? What did you do to make the car feel normal?

Mine does the same I don’t think is about adaptation process, im installing my m3 lsd diff next week maybe that will help

Ugh, that worries me. It sounded like @dyezak had success after driving it for a bit with occasional mess ups. I pinged him to ask what process he took for that (other than driving).

I have an MFactory LSD in the rear, but the ratio is still 2.54. I was NOT wanting to do a full M3 swap. :sob:

This thread has been moved to the private DCT Development subsection. I've done my best to give access to those who were actively participating in this thread, but will be granted on an individual basis moving forward.

I expect to venture into this very soon. Anyone know if the challenges in shifting are happening in Manual mode?

ugh... hopefully you guys doing the LSD swap will have some good news.

In the mean time, I will get my coding software checked out and make sure it is all working. I should use the revised guide that Derek is going to update. Then we can have a 3rd revision with notes I may have to contribute to the process.

I have never been able to get ISTA/p working. Should I expect to have to use that?

Might be best to hold off trying it at this point until we have a fix. In the mean time yes you need standard tools and an understanding of how it’s all used. Have you done any coding before ?

I just scored a 210mm large case 2.81 R&P out of a E31 to go in my M3 diff. Another small step...
E31 is large case is it? Good to know!
I’ve been reading about our little friend the DSC. Few things I found made me think that even if it doesn’t like the ratio the M3 unit might be able to be changed but need to do further checks

Sure. SAT transmission flash/retrofit, some ccc flashing, active backrest retrofit , kombi vin/miles clearing, and more.

Let me throw this in here.
Oh wow. I just realized how good of a document this is. Kind of deserves its own thread to be honest.

It does seem to omit the 215mm cases as well as some of the gearing options like the 2.65.

I think it's a little old and focuses on the earlier diffs but still good info. The 215 is the 2.56 or 2.81 only in the stock DCT rear AFAIK. You can get a 2.65 from a early 90's E31 850Ci manual car and it will work in the E9x M3 210mm diff.

Yeah, you're ahead of me on this as I'm coming to this same conclusion. The 2.65 is in the e60 525d and is virtually impossible to find, at least in the US. I'll have to look up an 850Ci, but that doesn't sound promising either.

You just have to be careful with the case size. Pretty much only V8 and M cars have the large case 210mm diff gears you need. There's a lot of gears in the same size across the small, medium and large diff sizes. I'm asking the guy I got mine from if he has a line on these things.

First of all, I'm going back through your thread and I'm learning some things now that I understand this better. I think I have the same color interior, I see your trim matches. What is the official color? Just the Schwarz (black)?

Also, In the original photo, you had an ashtray on your trim, and the one above you have the blank, is that piece swappable?
