If you choose D mode drivelogic setting 5 that behavior goes away. Only D mode DL 1 or 2 behave like a grandma is controlling the transmission.

I'd be curious how these settings behave with a single turbo. xHP allows gears to wind out to about 3500.
I have a 135i as well and I thinking about doing this too. What parts did you have to get?

How are you turning on sport mode if the drivelogic button replaces the sport button?
There’s no longer a sport button
It’s either normal drive mode (like a auto) or manual mode with the option to adjust the aggressiveness of the gear change by the drivelogic button
You’ll need the connectors for the gws and drivelogic button
8 pin for gws
6 pin for drivelogic button

Actually the throttle mapping changes when in sport mode in a normal DCT and the sport mapping feels far better. I’ll miss that if it changes too much. I notice that you’re RHD @Redi132kw where abouts are you ?
Thank you. so the sport button does two things i believe. One is it made the shift harder and the other was it turned on a more aggressive throttle mapping. So are you saying the ability to select the more aggressive map is gone? Sorry, just trying to fully understand how this works in the 135i.

So, when in 'auto mode' or whatever, is there any settings which adjust the shift points etc? Coming from a single turbo I'd like to have a D mode or DS like mode where it runs the gears out a bit longer.
I'll try and find the documentation on the M3 DriveLogic for you, but as a synopsis while in the D mode (automatic) drivelogic adjusts throttle mapping (which works on the N54, you can tell the difference), shift speed, shift firmness, and shift RPM.
While in M mode drivelogic only adjusts shift speed and shift firmness. Throttle mapping auto goes to the most aggressive and RPM is determined by you.
My Z4 will have both buttons. Not sure how that is going to shake out.

Then this may be exactly what I need. I could live with D mode with a single turbo if I could just push a few clicks up to get a decent part throttle shift point.
The annoying thing is every time you crank it up you start with D2 and you have to hit + on drivelogic 3x to get you to D5.
That is irritating, yes. What S mode does it start in with another tap to the right?
What are you plans regarding D5; can you set that with MDM and press your (M) button to get into cruising mode?
Following this guide, I have my 335is with M GWS and DriveLogic. 
My DCT is NOT happy though; upshifts are a meandering mess that eventually settles into gear but applying any throttle causes it to fluctuate up and down like crazy.
@dyezak How long did your DCT take to adapt? Did you force adaptations? What did you do to make the car feel normal?
