I had the stuttering and performed a restart on tablet all was well afterwards. If it's a tablet with mobile data make sure set to not use wifi data otherwise it could keep locking up . Also I noticed that you can change the CPU speed between 80 and 160 bit obviously 160 is higher drain so I dont know. And lastly if very worried about power drop the polling rate down but remember alarms like drone keep a cell connection and bmw connect keeps connection and keyless entry always listens plus alot of cars have an led somewhere that's on while off.

Mail just arrived, trying mine out now. MHD works great, apparently the app for early n55 was updated for the adapter long ago with no comment. ProTool is a little finnicky, have to be in airplane mode and then enable wifi and force it to the MHD AP.
xDelete seemed to have issues, it would prompt me to connect my wifi adapter, but couldn't seem to read codes or provide live data. Flashing works fine, not noticeably faster. xHP code/adaptation reading works fine.

First complaint is the need to be on wifi, I get the necessity (cheap iOS licensing) but for apps that check a license, I have to be on my actual wifi first, then switch over after it's completed the check. Even using my phone, I have pretty bad LTE coverage in my driveway, but that's a personal issue. Second is that the adapter is just always on, silently draining my battery. Not a huge issue since it's not hard to unplug it, but a switch on the adapter to shut it off would be nice (other wifi obd2 adapters I've used have had this).

Should work but thor will be slower iirc

It doesn't work for whatever reason. Sent debug logs to MHD and they can't seem to figure out why it won't connect to the DME. Regardless, ordered the official MHD unit from BMS and it shipped the same day :)

Looks like the 387f I got from the bimmergeeks cable is back. Not surprised, but definitely won't be leaving it in for a week while the car sits.

Yeah I want to know this as well, how bad will battery drain be?

Says above that it can trigger draw codes or drain the battery if left too long but day to day fine on a healthy battery.

For me? I'm running a MCS/Z4M battery so I'll have to unplug it slightly every time.

It triggers a 2ded code so fo remote starts and alarms and many other things. Im sure you v could buy a cable extension with switch but our cars call for a battery tender if they aren't driven much anyway so honestly if you have issues then I think it's not gonna be this adapter unless you sit over 2 weeks.
A cell phone can standby for 2 or 3 days my note is 17wh battery my car is 1260wh. Hope that gives perspective on what we are really discussing.

I dont think anyone that needs guide should attempt especially if gonna flash and they put alot of development into this it's not the hardware that's value but the interface they owned made. I think people should purchase and support mhd. People want new features but then want to criticize when it's time to pony up.

@Ballistic noticed you're running a bit hot. You ok man? I sincerely doubt Rob meant that as an attack towards you.
I keep re reading the posts and I dont know what happened he tells me to chill out but I never got upset I just want people to think about the morality and the ramifications. Save money but brick car and dont get to work equals epic fail lmao. I not saying that will happen either

Yes it is simple! Ever heard of, for example, TCP, window sizing, buffering and caching? These are all improvements to enhance connectivity on a lower level (OSI 2-4) instead of having to solve them on application (OSI 7) level. How do you think this page and your Youtube video's are delivered without interruption?!
Life is way easier for the developer in IP land than it is in OBD-serial land.

And you're telling i'm triggered? Look at the triggered responses i get after explaining how the adapter works.
Last reply. You guys are fcked.
Dude you made something personal out of me saying support the developer and that if someone needs guide they should think before attempting it. You said us guys and you keep getting personal noone attacked you is English your second language cause if not their is no excuse for your attitude. And idk what you think you know but flashing a car even if its emulated to think its hardwired is not reliable. Mobile apps are designed around a Phone and internet system that from day one was lossy and based off an analog modem so your not gonna convince me it's the same. If everything your saying is right then why did it take 5 yrs for them to release this ?

Last reply. Get schooled guys.

Nice edit there. Glad you're cooling off.

I really don't know what to say to this. I'm also entirely unconvinced that practically anyone (including myself) would know how to effectively do this, so it borders on potential harm to suggest it and offer some sort of half cooked set of DIY resources without any hand holding in a non-technical discussion on the product thread.
