I ordered from BMS yesterday and have a Fed Ex number that says its been picked up and in transit. Its not a pre-order anymore despite what it says

If you have the THOR wifi adapter, I heard from them that it will support MHD as well since they use the same protocol (E series).

I am going to test it shortly :)

got my adapter shipping notification from BMS

😎

Mhd has stated they will have apple compatibility soon, no need for any of that
I'm just messing around it's just when you have waited for mhd releases as much as I have you would know where I'm coming from. I actually would love apple support cause then I would have one phone for all things car like my Amazon music and bmw has very good apple support android not so much. We waited for long time for flex fuel and still waiting for auto timing fix. Knock control the list Is huge which Is great but it means resources are spread thin. It's very rare to get answer cause they test alot which is very important considering the ramifications of a bug in your dme.

If thor ends up working I wonder if xhp will work with this adapter.

Not sure if you're joking but iOS has been teased as the big feature of their next big release all year. Guessing it's due out very soon now that the adapter is available.
I could be wrong but from a vendor POV releasing a new flashing interface and a new platform is a nightmare on the support end. I think part of reason they went wifi is for future apple support though and I'm not sure if iirc that it was alot of hoops for apple otg support for cable. That could be completely wrong but I do believe their is no reason for them to rush apple support. I do think if this adapter goes smooth it would help the timeline but I would ask jayoma to verify the release cause he is usually very careful what he says and you get alot of speculation. Their are features that were announced before recent releases that still are not out.

I'll be trying protocol and xhp as well also curious if my laptop can connect for coding environment. This will be great if it can do eml type stuff so can troubleshoot other cars. When I used my torque elm adapter I scanned cars all the time cause I had it with me and was able to help people.

Working with xhp, xdelete and mhd just fine. All flash times have been cut in half.

Anyone tried connecting to http://192.168.4.1 (or whatever your gateway address may be but I assume it's going to be the same for everyone) through your phone or tablet and taking a look at the settings of the WiFi-serial bridge of this device? If you were driving down the road, it seems someone could easily connect and change the AP settings for this dongle if the network is left insecure and leave you without a working device. (Edit: you may need to turn airplane mode on to disable cellular and then Wi-Fi back on for this to work)

Might be best to secure the device after you get it by changing the SSID and setting WPA2 encryption.

Can someone from MHD chime in on this? Since no instructions come with the device (after all, it does plug & play well), it seems concerning that the security of the device hasn't been talked about.
