Thats not bad at all, how many hours you think? For the engine about 2k maybe a little more. Waiting on parts now to but the heads on, I still need to upgrade that but that's later down the road

Hours idk, guy at the shop has been knocking some of it out while I'm at work, but General time line you can get one built in a couple of daysThats not bad at all, how many hours you think?
Well I have a guy that knows some secrets haha, nice man what rods and pistons did you go withOh no! Your building your own engine without knowing the special super secret ways of building these engines!!
Looks good. I am doing the same. Head is at machine shop, blocks is headed to shop tomorrow, and rods and pistons getting balanced tomorrow as well.

Nice I was thinking about getting cp pistons, did you get them coatedI went with Molnar rods and CP Pistons.

Haha I'm lucky enough to not have to pay for labor which saved a lot of money, but it's probably more to the 3k range of you add machine work and other odds and endsWell let me know who this guy is at the shop who can build a bottom end for 2k.
Ya I left the heads fine just resurfaced it, but building a car does add up fastMy brother is building mine. I am coming close to 10k on this build. Originally wanted to stick around 5k, but you know how it goes.
1k Pistons
1k Rods
800 Head work
500 Gaskets
3850 Turbos
1300 Clutch + FW
1k+ Random parts
This adds up quick.

So when I see the head studs being used, is that part of your random parts? What about the crank hub? Is that something that needs replaced or is it just the process of having it installed? I may as well know nothing about engine building btw
Ya i just heard the same thing, of course right after I got the studs haha, but I think someone is making a custom one here soonWhat was this I saw circulating around about the studs not seating correctly and needing a longer one of custom length? I think there was a problem with them stripping with the torque wrench, maybe that was something else.
