Please don’t take this the wrong way. I don’t want to come across as argumentative What you’ve said has merit and you aren’t wrong. I’m just going to lay out what I think that’s different so that it’s clear.
why should we buy hardware if RK-Tunes has it bough and we could work with him together?
Because the hardware doesn’t just get us a BIN it also gives the ability to create a communal bench flash test kit when combined with the spare TCU we have.
We make that first binary public for others to see and work with. Anyone can send an altered file to the test kit.
If we just pay RK we only get RK and he may not have all of the skills, equipment and time we need. he’s not likely to give us much of his time, effort and skill for free and he’s unlikely to invest in a test bed without knowing for sure it’s going to make him money. More moneythan we have
How about a smart use of money instead of blindly buying hardware?
It’s not blind as we’ll have the ability to crowdsource and test anything that any developer wants to test, professionals included.

Yes, I think what you said was we should ask anyone to bid, we would fundraise up to that bid amount and if they’re successful they get the money. Is this correct ?
I assume you disagree tbat the market for this is more lucrative than the money we will raise. If the whole 135,335,M3 and z4 market isn’t enough to convince proffesionals to spend time on this already then why would they do it for less money ?
An amateur might bid, but is less likely to be successful on his own or in combination with others, without an expensive test bed.
Very few will donate for hardware without a plan behind it?

@doublespaces as the trustee. We’re donating so ... we don’t get anything in return except hope

We generate our first Bin and we start work on what it takes to crack this nut. There’s a number of very smart people here already watching and learning
