The sleeves get rid of the need for a closed deck. The Darton sleeves are a lot stronger and can hold a lot more cylinder pressure then the stock block can.

Yeah the sleeves themselves are rated to 400 hp per cylinder. Thicker flanged sleeves reduce the amount of flex the block has along with a good headstud conversion to keep everything in place

Little update on the darton sleeved block. Nearly 500 miles on her , no issues to report besides my water pump deciding that it was done today and in the most convenient of places of course. I live about 45 minutes away from the cities so super convenient timing. Just waiting on that 8080 and 4 bar map sensor @SLOWESTN54 was supposed to order me up.. hopefully there not out of stock on the 8080s
