I think the only thing they may need sent in is a 3.08 bolted and/or welded. @Twisted Tuning already sent in a welded 3.46 and I'm going to send in a bolted 3.46.I'm acquiring a front diff from another 2011 335xi AT e90. Any use for sending it in, or should I just see if it's bolted/welded? @MFactory
I think there was some confusion over whether the n55s were different (I still doubt they are) but this should put that to bed.
I would agree. That would hopefully keep cost down and speed things up.I think at this point if they are both the same size and etc. And the cases are the same, just make one type and people will just buy the full diff and remove their old one bolted or welded.
Actually it can. Setting up a machine to produce a batch of something is one of the most time consuming parts of doing the manufacturing.
Because of this, each different ratio we ask for costs a significant amount, and the only way to mitigate this cost is to buy in volume (let the machine make a bunch once its setup) so asking for additional ratios is likely a no go I'd bet.

I think there is more than enough interest. We need this in 2020.
Did you ever get a chance to send the diff in? So far we have 29 people, so definitely enough interest . Hope this happens this year as a few of us now have built motors and want to test these bad boys .@MFactory we have 25 confirmed buyers, I have a bolted sample I can send in for r&d. Can we get this moving?
Yup, agree bolted or not just make the full diff with two gear ratio options 3.08 and 3.46, swap diffs and move on....I think at this point if they are both the same size and etc. And the cases are the same, just make one type and people will just buy the full diff and remove their old one bolted or welded.
