Just following up on Steve's post from a month ago. Here is some information on the hardware in the Dodson Motorsport DCT for BMW.
1. Clutch Basket - Made from high-grade billet steel CNC machined rather than pressed
2. Friction Plates - Partnership with industry leaders Exedy. 10 Plates on the Sportsman Plus
3. End Plates - Designed to withstand high torque loading
A note about installation:
Due to the tight tolerances and susceptibility to human error, we like to recommend that installers take advantage of our clutch core exchange program. We send a fully assembled clutch in a protective case ready to be installed. You can offset the cost by returning your old clutch core in the very same case.
In our experience, this is advantageous because it is fast and reduces assembly errors that creep in for even highly skilled installers. When we send a fully assembled clutch our complaints regarding the learning process are next to none. The car is up and running faster, tuners can free up space on their shop floor, it truly is win-win for all involved.
