If the T-Mo and Sprint deal goes thru, it gives them enough clout to have T-Mo not be the "uncarrier" any more and they will have parity with the death star ATT and Big V. Once there's only 3, they will no longer compete on price and kiss unlimited goodbye.

I was able to submit the CANBUS shutdown command, 0x28, 0x02 to AVIN to forward to the manufacturer. I was told not to hold my breath but perhaps one day they will implement a different way of handling this command which does not result in a shutdown/restart of the android system when attempting to put the car into programming mode for MHD and xHP.

Well, the only thing they can do is switch to 5G, but they are running out of frequencies to run on. They use the words "Unlimited 4G" So yea, eventually they will make a 6G or something that runs on the same air space and 'retire' their 4G networks and also dump their unlimited plans at the same time. Gives them a chance to redo all the agreements. But for now, as long as it is effectively unlimited, aka I never have to worry about it, then its good enough for me. I pay $100 after tax for three lines unlimited everything except tethering which is like 10gb a line.

Dont want to derail this thread but im one of the few thats left with the Unlimited Data from Verizon years back which they pulled but then earlier this year or was it last year they started the Unlimited Data plans back up.Me personally i think Verizon is doing this Unlimited Plan so they can bait everyone then they wil take away the unlim plan.I got friends that had the orig unlim plan which they upgraded so they can get the new phone but now are on the string of Verizon and their so called Unlim plan.lets see how long this will last I dont trust them.

Hopefully they can make it happen one day. I ran a new Beemergeeks cable to the glove box with low pro OBD2 adaptor. Also ran both USB ports to my glovebox so they’re hidden and easier to swap over to a tablet then ran a long lightning cable to the center console compartment. I bought the front camera to but it needs a third USB port to run camera, MHD gauges and CarPlay. Anyone wanting to do this will have to Bluetooth music to run the front camera, and MHD etc.

Do we know if there are any new updates on the functionality of this unit? Flash MHD or anything like that. I'm about to buy this guy and want to make sure Im making the right move. I dont see any other option for us iDrive guys.

Also very interested. I like the iDrive but it is so outdated,. I think if you came up with an updated solution, you would have alot of sales!

using the carplay usb adapter is a really issue. more than half the time it pops up when the phone isn't connected, trying to use it like every 5 seconds and wont go away. also I have seen it stall out and stop responded. someone somewhere mentioned updating the android system takes care of it anyone know anything.

Also I like to use the voice control button to automatically pull up my Jb4 app for gauges and it works good however it does do the stupid "voice control" thing. wonder if there is anyway to make a shortcut button like the voice control activate navigation selected app without saying the whole "voice control" "voice control ended" stuff...

I’m really on the fence about purchasing this, they also make the one where you cut into the dash on the non- I drive models and mount the newer style f30 screen, but I’ve heard mixed things that the audio quality from the unit sucks, how has it been for you so far?

I wouldn't get this if you were an audiophile. I have not been using my car in months so I haven't spent much time fiddling with this but it is functional. I wouldn't call it premium quality sound, that is just my impression of the unit so far. It does the job it was made to do but nothing more really.

Yeah that’s understandable thanks! I don’t have a logic 7 system only a hifi system so I don’t know if I would notice much of a difference anyway!

I have the hifi system as well, but again i've not even listened to music through it yet. Remember, its a dual core processor, its like picking up a galaxy S4 or soemthing like that more or less. Its pretty slow when it comes to demanding things like Google Maps.

Wonder if it's the same company that's advertising for the e60. This thing is awesome and looks to be cheaper, even if you have Mask, it will work. The only down side is the options add up very quickly. This may be a better route, since cic, and nbt are still up here in price.

It may be the same company, they sell several models. It is the best at the job currently, but I'd venture to say that non-idrive people get a better overall experience. The processor is faster in the built in radio models. Those I'm told aren't a perfect fit either but they fit well enough.

I ran across this in another tread, peaked an interest cause it looked rather reasonable, and is another offering besides the cic. There are other great features like the android, and if it's a swap out, it makes it that much simpler. I know the ccc is pretty pathetic, it was with the car, I just may sell it and look into this.
