Its a straight bolt up, electronics wouldn't be hard for someone like Tom from jpl, pretty sure he done it already on a customers car.

Proud of it, this nerd is still pushing this platform forward here in oz where many others have stopped.

Most shop won't even touch an n54 these days unless it's only for basic stuff.

Yeah apparently the MSS60 has no issue driving the S85, and has all the DCT stuff already baked in. Definitely a couple of them around. If my S65 ever meets its demise I'm definitely putting an S85 in my car.

Not that easy to put a s85 in, the subframe is completely different than s65 and doesn't bolt up to our cars

Yeah, and the oil pan needs to be modified to fit around the steering rack but making it fit isn't really an issue, as long as the electronics work.

It will be much cheaper and better to get a hard top m6 and stick a dct in that than trying to massage it all into a 135, engine is just to heavy and the wheelbase to small for a v10.

It would handle like shit unless all you want to do is drift and it would be a handfull at the best of times.

But it is the sweetest sounding engine to date from BMW.

But why not the M5. Then you can stick you homies in the back with comfort.

IMHO the cars have become pigs. The beauty of the 1 series is the compact size. I saw people doing this stuff with 318tis ... ruining perfectly balanced cars. As marty points out, one factor is wheelbase. And there are others.

I would t put it in a 1 series. But DCTs lend themselves to high revving high strung engines with narrow power bands.

I really enjoy the s65 with DCT, its so much fun in the 1m and gives most cars a really hard time.

It's not the fastest its not the best but its the way bmw should have done it in the first place.

All work is delayed due to family business commitments and a host of work on our other cars but I'll be updating
this thread as time allows.

Took out another top euro award on the weekend after the GTR festival at eastern creek.

The car certainly draws a crowd.

Time to have some fun at power cruise this weekend and start to enjoy the car more.

Videos to come.

They are exactly the same as bmw jets but lower profile and different plug.

Nothing special they fit the same on factory bonnet

I used the MINI jets on my car as well, but I just used non heated ones and removed the wires. Needed to get a Y adapter too since the 135 unit won't work... I bet you could use most of the hose from the MINI as well though.

There you go didn't even know they existed, we don't have sub zero temps where I live could have saved myself a lot of work.

I just made all new hoses and kept the old ones in my original spare parts tub if I ever wanted to revert back, its never going to
happen but who knows but keeping original parts is a must.

As promised some powercruise action whilst avoiding flying rocks and rubber.
