Hey guys, that’s my car

Correct on the GTX3076r Gen 2. We‘re going for max responsiveness over max power with a goal of 500-550whp. As for the SpeedTech kit, we haven’t yet run it as the rest of the car is being built... but given the simplicity of hard parts paired with proven reliability of the few moving parts (Garrett turbo, Turbosmart WG, etc) we don’t anticipate much of a headache with this kit. Will gladly report once we get some miles on her. Here are a few pics of where the build is at right now...

Mocked up custom rear diffuser, custom setrab p/s cooler (needed with the added front tire width), Klaus Composites custom full CF front splitter, full cage, fire suppression, custom dash and infinity more other goodies.

And that’s a pic of my little dude who loves coming with me to the shop. By age 2 he could tell you every make and most models of cars. I’m in danger!

Such a sick build. Glad you got your brakes sorted. The Trophy's are way cooler anyway :)
What are you running for management? Totally agree on the simplicity of the Speedtech kit, I just keep hearing horror stories of drivability and consistancy with a single kit on the N54 and wonder how it'll all translate on the road course where it matters most. Hardware-wise, this looks like the way to go. I was talking to Jeff about running this kit as well with a 30r or even a 3071 since my goals are 450-500whp. I know it's already on the car, but one thing I'm always curious about is the weight difference between the factory twin system and something like this single kit.

Nope, very happy with my ACF top mount kit. But if I was in the market I would really consider the Speedtech kit. I hope it takes all of the business away from the 'upgraded' stock frame manufacturers. The price point is good.

Of everyone talking about race cah builds his is one of the most thought out I have seen for an N54 powered car. Then again, there have been very few and far between over the years. Probably because of that thing called the m3 w/ S65.

Might ask/suggest to him to post over here? It sure is more technical.

Thanks dude.

Turbo Mike was the original pioneer who has competitively raced his 335 in NASA ST1 for a few years. He’s been a big resource with our build. That said, once heat management is addressed... the n54 is an extremely solid option on track (just make sure to steer away from aftermarket non BIG name hybrids - meaning stick with Garrett, BW, etc).

Hey, thanks for chiming in.

I'm curious, what are you cooling here, trans fluid? I thought about adding an inline cooler and mounting it to the bottom of the car somewhere that doesn't get air normally and putting a fan on it.

This car won its class two years in a row on the same set of VTT Stage 2 turbos. shrug

Is power steering cooler a must have for a daily that sees occasional track duty? Or will it be fine without it?
These come equipped with factory p/s coolers (the narrow cooler in front of the radiator). That should suffice for most applications. For us, we’re running some wide rubber up front which adds load to the p/s system. Not on this platform, but I’ve heard of it happening on others... of melting the p/s when running far more front tire than originally equipped when on track. For us this was more of a preventative reliability measure.

That is just their motor mount bracket correct? You are using the actual motor mount on the passenger side of your choosing?

Correct, this is with their motor mount bracket. Which is needed to get the proper fit. Once that was in, the downpipe/WG dump tube/etc fit in nicely.

I run 265/35/18 square and have autocrossed the car before. Maybe I should measure how hot the fluid gets next time

I didn't see any photos of this area, would be interesting if you had some. My ADE kit uses a custom motor mount in addition to a custom motor mount arm/bracket.

Here are a few pics of my kit - before install, mocked up on the motor next to EFab Motorsports male model Brian  and then an underneath shot from the downpipe location. The undershots are a challenge but I’d be glad to shoot a few more next time I’m by the shop if it might be helpful.

Sorry I missed this! Thanks dude, yeah the Trophy’s wound up working out perfectly for us. From a management standpoint - stock ECU for now. There doesn’t seem to be any one standalone system that truly fits our needs right now. I hear a lot about Syvecs, AEM, Haltech, MoTec but there are either lots of mixed reviews (Syvecs) or factory DI can’t be retained. For now, we’ll keep it on the factory system running MHD until a tried and true solution develops in the marketplace.

As for power goals... the 3071 would most likely spool really nicely. Obviously it won’t be a bonkers high hp setup but a nice boost over the factory twins with a dead nuts reliable, proven turbo. Love to hear more if you go that direction.
