Hellllllllllo. Congrats. She’s beautiful.

So the Boost solenoid that’s bolted to the cold side, are you going to Control that through the DME?

Thank you!!!

Yeah, that's the plan. It's not designed to run on the high frequency duty cycle the DME outputs, but hardparker tested it out in this thread, and it seemed to work:

He used a 7.01024.02.0 valve which I was planning on buying. But I see the turbo came with a 7.01024.00 valve. I've been searching, and it seems these may actually be the same valve.

I plan on testing functionality of this valve on the higher duty cycle first though. So I bought this fully adjustable duty cycle generator. I'll connect the valve to an air compressor and measure the pressure output vs. duty cycle at the higher frequency with this generator. Then I'll know for sure if it will be sufficient. I'm guessing it may not be linear at the higher frequency, but it will certainly be interesting to compare it's performance at 32Hz vs. 200 or 250 (don't remember off the top of my head if it's 200 or 250).

Sounds good. Just a heads up I tried to do the same thing hardparker did, but it did not work for me.

But I don’t have the know how that you do so maybe you can figure it out.

Was hard Parker an F series car?

I also picked up this "shuenk" inlet from Midnight Motorsports. It's a full 3" inlet, much larger than my vrsf inlet. The plan is to modify it to provide a connection between the 4" turbo inlet and the oem air duct pipe via a 4" x 3" silicone elbow.

Hmm, it wasn't working? That's discouraging to hear. He was f-chassis X3, but that's one of those in-betweener models that still had the e-chassis style pneumatic wastegate. Wish me luck, if the valve doesn't work I'll have to figure out plan B.

Small update. Finally got around to mounting the empty block, head, and valve cover on an engine stand for mockup. I'll work out inlet plumbing and water pump placement with this. Projects go sloooooow with 2 kids under 5...

@SLOWESTN54 What's new with the m340i?
Nothing really, It's Still just FBO, Intake, turbo inlet, down pipe, charge pipe, on a Mhd Stage 2 e40 tune. It's quick enough for now, in the spring i will be spicing it up. Looking for a set of wheels has also been a pain, They should of stuck with 5x120 instead of switching to 5x112

Sooooo @wheela update us 👀
Thanks for asking👍 No major updates, but did pick up some small updates odds and ends for the mock-up and eventual install:
-ebay water pump & t-stat for fit-up
-full-race inconel T4 gasket
-full-race inconel stud kit for T4 turbo
-efr 3" v-band clamp
-fresh manifold studs & copper nuts

I'm excited to get some spare time to start putting parts on the mock-up block and working out my inlet and water pump placement😀

Also going to have to bite the bullet soon and start self-tuning on my stock turbo to get comfortable with it before setting up a base map for this kit and trying to tune that. Good thing I've got some vacation time set up over the next few months...

Did you nail down a set of rims for the m340?

Awesome to see everything coming together for you Wheela! Even though it is a pain in the ass to install everything I think that's part of the fun. Hope you are up and running in the near future I am excited to see your setup running!

Ayeee we love to see the progress. I gotta come see this in person soon. Haven’t been in MN as often lately.
As for my car, I’m still lost, but it’s snowing back home anyways. Can’t drive on PS4S’s in the snow😭

Thanks! Yeah, it should be pretty fun working out my specific customizations👍 I'm getting pretty antsy to get it finished up.
