Mmmmm. I think you'd actually want to filter the fuel before it goes into the sensor. Also for terminology's sake, AFAIK, the ECA is just the computer box thingy like the boostbox. The part that goes inline with the fuel hose, is a Flex Fuel sensor. The computer box does the analysis of the signal sent by the sensor itself, someone please correct me if this is wrong.
So what you'd do most likely, is cut that long hose and shorten it up by however long your fuel filter is. That is more or less my basic plan anyway. Some people are saying to put the flex fuel sensor on the return line or inside a Y to Y hose to alleviate flow restrictions, although for my purposes it probably won't matter.
