Because I've yet to see a public xdf update or even be sent a private one to test this on. F series XDF's are also unreleased while MHD is in beta. At some point you go around the problem by working with what is available, in this case the side effect is also increasing output further but does add some cost. I have no doubt Justin has them, and has been working to get them out, so let's see them already!

The driver box, with dwell control, still allows for 8,000rpm+ better and has the benefit of increasing coil voltage. Those not interested in DME unlocks, those without access to the dwell maps (currently unreleased and untested on N55, S55 etc) etc will benefit greatly. Everyone else can save a little coin.

Edit- the tables are released, so driver modules would only be necessary for piggyback only cars, or cars without a flash option.

Extensive bench testing and general design carryover from the original marine application. On the bench OEM coils last about a minute when stressed, this one outlasted the driver and survived when set to misfire the gap as well. In all bench testing, the same coil was used for every test. Every torture side by side with multiple bmw and r8 to failure until we blew the driver intentionally trying to kill the coil (ok actually we blew the driver setting the function generator to like 75% duty cycle by accident but the coil was ok somehow). Can they break? Absolutely. But that was my experience. Everything else would be based on warranty claims and anecdotal, I've put around 30k miles on my beta kit in a little over 2 years.

Another coil I was unable to kill was the LS truck coil, for reference. Killed every other one tested fairly easily.

We were speaking with Martial (owner of MHD) earlier this week and he mentioned the tables have been added for both E-series and F-series cars. They are testing other updates to their app that are coming soon and will release one update with multiple things. Based off the information he shared we would expect the update to be available by the end of the month.

Unlike MSD8x, MEVD17 has dwell in a 2D Voltage x Dwell table which is what I think you are changing. There is also a Temp x Voltage 3D correction table for dwell as well as a Load x RPM 3D correction table. Are you changing these two tables as well?

Are you guys doing anything with multi-spark? There is a Temp x RPM table for number of subsequent sparks and a codeword to disable multi-spark completely.

Yeah, multispark was only really an issue for an early design that drew too much current for multispark. Voltage x dwell with temp and load correction is actually better than n54 has available.

Anyone know which aftermarket manifolds have been proven to fit with these? Only mention I've seen was someone with the phoenix racing manifold needing to do some trimming, but nothing more specific than that.
