Ok the work goes back to you, since it's your friend that seems to have this opinion: please explain how the "overdrive unit fails." What's the specific failure? Then we can discuss that aspect more specific to your description.

Filippo
Well, thanks for trying to lift my doubts.. I honestly do not know what exactly he meant, it was just a brief phone call. Helix units failed for different reasons and then he added that it might cause this breaks issue.
If this POD is reliable, I might consider it once I find limits of my HPFP with new turbos :)

It's going to eventually wear out, there isn't really a way around that, although it should last a real good long time. That's why we have the warranty. Even outside of warranty though, we'll make it easy to offer service to rebuild or replace at a very reasonable price. Remember, the whole car is a wear item. That's not to go soft on parts that don't perform or last, just begrudging acknowledgement that most of us will replace most parts of our cars before it's all said and done -and that is if we're lucky! Funny how that works.

Again, we stand behind our products. Most of the time I even help out the guys that have CLEARLY ham-fisted the snot out of some products -hey, shit happens and I'm not super interested in spending time and effort playing the blame game. If it's an issue that I have to address for the product line, that's my top priority, if it's a simple mistake, I tend to cut people a pretty serious break since I've always liked it when I was treated like that. If I feel like someone is trying to take me for a ride, which has happened, I change gears a bit but I still have to be professional. Not so much for them, for me. It's how we do!

Remember, we all got into this for fun. No reason for that to change.

You all have a great weekend!

Chris

Well I ordered mine today, not going to lie Iam a little nervous about vibrations and the stock vacuum plate. My car has pretty high miles but I plan to send it just as it comes. Plan to see how it works without a new tune.

Got the order, it'll go out today, assuming your order is the one from IL that just came in. :)

Have about 30 of them out in the field thus far. Zero reported issues, shy of a couple guys learning that their injectors weren't as happy as they thought they were (it's an N54, go figure). Once that was squared away wasn't a problem. It's on my car with no tune change and 130k+ mileage, it makes some noise at cold start as you can see in the vid, (fixable if your tuner has the xdf), but quiets way down after. Have fun!

Thanks Chris! This is indeed my order. My Index 12s are almost 2 years old now so let’s hope they are still up to the job! My car is currently at 175k miles so it will be a great test. The last 20k miles have been with upgraded turbos. So it’s been getting abused already and has treated me well! My tuner is just busy right now so eventually it will get tuned properly

Any feedback from those of you who received and installed the PFS POD yet? Would love to hear your impressions to help me decide whether to pull the trigger on this mod.
Thanks.

I ran it for a few months, roughly 5k all up with no issues, now its going on my race car so wont be driven much on the road just track sessions.

I love the double barrel but its an overkill for me these days as I'm not chasing power so I don't need it that's why when I was approached to try it
I sort of knew that if PFS was behind it, I wouldn't have any issues or support problems which I had not needed thus far.

I foresaw the issues with the helix and lots of people said I'm full of it, well a year down the track and ?

Hate to say it I told you so. LOL

The PFS pod is a superior design and has worked flawlessly for me, I know many of you been burnt many times and so have I
but when has anyone had issues with PFS ?

PFS has been one of the best vendors I had a dealing with but if you don't believe me a see if you can search for any complaints as I had not seen any,
that should be enough for anyone to see he is reputable.

That’s great to hear. Any install hints, tips and tricks to share?
Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind words Marty.

Install tips doc attached for perusal at your leisure. Ideally you'd be sipping one of those drinks with a little umbrella while reading it, feet up, pinky finger extended, loud sips. Recommend skipping the drink for the actual install.

I’ve been lazy with install but should hopefully be installing it next weekend. I will say shipping was incredibly fast. Arizona to illinios in 3 days. And I placed the order later in the night. Excited to try it just been preoccupied with dropping the rear subframe and replacing everything back there. I will give an update on here once I install it

ha! Thanks, we aim to please. Generally *most* orders ship within 3 days but we try to beat that -and do so- often. Have to have a little elbow room for the unknown. :)

Whats the pod rated to support on full e85 and then on like a e50 blend? Just looking for some estimations

Haven't established the ceiling yet, at 670 whp we were still holding 3k psi at redline, but that was stock motor and didn't want to push further. Have a guy in Florida with a big single who wants to crack 7 DI only and just got mailed all the parts/supporting mods to do so. Ethanol mixtures will be the same ratio as stock HPFP ceilings on E85/E50/E30 mixes, but really too much goes into a tune to accurately project until someone just plain does it. Put another way, how much power do you want to make on DI only?

I will say this, LPFP seems to go significantly further when you are DI only. Usually we rate a single shot 274 (standard F90000274, often referred to as a 450 in the community) at mid 500's to just under 600 whp worth of flow, but we easily crested 600 with plenty of LPFP in the tank. Went double on the car after mid 6's no prob. A great combo is a 295 (~30% increase over 274) single shot with the POD. Lots of flow, easy, simple, DME control over everything. Doubleshot 274/274, 295/274, or 295/285 after that.

At 650hp I had to run a 295 on e20 as the lpfp would start to take a huge dive and in turn so would the hpfp but that's on my 2 year old hpfp

Thats weird, because i'm running 650hp atm on the 274, and its barely starting to show signs of weakness, on straight E85 of course with a single barrel.

The Aussie dyno numbers tend to be pretty conservative vs. ours, so it's not surprising. Plus maybe his HPFP is on the way out, who knows. I'd guess more the dyno differences.
