BMW only used high milage engine blocks back in the day to build their reliable F1 cars..
Like the M12 1.5 with 1500hp (limited to 850hp).
They only used ones with at least 100K on them because at that milage all te stresses of the casting would have been worked out. If the block would break, i would have done already.
This ain't N54 related or involving a complete engine but it think it's a cool fact.. lol

In the mustang world we called these blocks “seasoned” and yes they were desirable to use as well.

Seeing all these motors built the same, do your samples and lower bearings if possible all your upgrades, and electric issues are in consideration then upgrades won't hurt, depending on the tuner, fuel, then the fun begins. Although these are not power houses, making power does come with a cost. There turbo cars, and can have a lot of fun with them, respect your tuner, and realistic power goals, and go have some fun.

Compression and Leakdown will give you an idea the health of the engine. Hopefully you also kept up with all the maintenance.

I have 110k on mine dont know if i should go single at this point

Omar@vadersolutions has a mmp stage 3 e92 with 150k, his 135i is over 100k and his 750whp e90 had high mileage too
I think. He had a fbo daily too with like 190 which was modified throughout its life. I say go for it. If comepression and leakdown tests go good then do it up. Mines at 103k and I plan to do it and keep it a long time. Comepression test went perfect on mine. I dont know from personal experience but it seems like these things can really last with high hp numbers. And if you plan to daily on pump gas at 500 hp or whatever you said then thatd probably be just fine
