So stupid question. You buy a VTT shotgun or helix, update the tables in the VCV thread and you are good to go?

Basically yes, i did a 5.99s 100-200kmh on straight E85 with just a single barrel and the VCV tables.
I've yet to dyno the car but i should be around 600hp, and its not at the limit yet. Maybe 650hp on E85 is doable with the single barrel only.
I've always wondered if the single barrel spins the pump faster than the helix 3x.

The single barrel should do more than 600 with the vcv tables, every engine is different so its not one suits all but close

Marty is a VTT shill. He is not the least bit unbiased, he is severely biased. Just something people should be aware of when they read his posts. They are in business together.

I have never seen someone without a vendor title push products so hard. He is VTT's Australian lap dog and humps their leg every chance he gets.

Speaking of VTT what did they do to get banned from the forum this time? They are like a revolving door. Banned constantly on forums left and right, finally get unbanned and then banned again. It is so weird how drama follows them everywhere(not).

Also, the shotgun kits still ship with the wrong sized belt after how many years? You will want to swap it out with the right sized belt if you get it.

Helix gets my vote or wait for more hpfp solutions to come to the market.

No issues with my double shotgun, belt was the right size and all. Been on the car nearly 1 year.

https://www.spoolstreet.com/threads/correct-shotgun-belt.6608/ <-- Well documented in a few other threads as well.

@doublespaces did a really good write up btw if anyone has not scene it: https://www.spoolstreet.com/threads/vtt-double-shotgun-installation.2998/

The single shotgun supports just under 600whp on 100% E85. However that means the fuel system maxed out. Do you really want to run a fuel system 100% maxed out? Not for reliability you don't. If you want north of 575whp on 100% e85 you need the double shotgun, not the single. This should be kept in mind when comparing the products and their true costs all in.

Pretty sure when the Helix originally came out there was a discussion about that. Someone did the math on the size of the pulley and determined the shotgun was a tad over 3.1, and the helix was bang on 3.

I think those figures are pre vcv tables.

That someone was Chris, he published a not so redacted PDF.

I can say with certitude that the single barrel, in my case, was absolute shit without the tables.
Not even near 575hp.

Yes @Torgus because I only sell vtt products, i dont sell anything else.

You need a thicker tin foil hat dude.

Why don't you check my website and tell me where the vtt products are I sell.

All you have to do is read the helix thread and make an educated conclusion instead of recommendations by people
that don't even run one.

Just look at this thread and what's it turning into and called it in the beginning.

At the end of the day its your car choose what you want as its your money.

Yes, I'am a little bit biased to VTT because their products work and I run them on my own car as they are that good.

So why wouldn't I recommend them, I don't make any money from it.

At least you can upgrade the shotgun to a double barrel later on when your fuel demands become greater.

If you have active steering, different belt is needed. 7PK1475 for those, I believe. The net of it - +5mm belt length over stock is what single barrel runs for any car.

Out of all the shotguns i fitted or the ones I supplied previously the belt has never been an issue.

The only issue I had lately is the extension harness which I replaced and had no issues since.

I cant say I would recommend either.

In my experience VTT has always has had great customer service, but pretty much everyone of their products I have owned had issues out of the box. I admit some small, but still frustrating when spending a good bit of money. My shotgun kit pulley had a ton of run out, replacement was the same, the belt was too short and the cooling hose solution is a hack. The belt is able to be installed, but the tensioner is almost maxed out. Once sorted it works fairly well, but I have seen a few cases of brackets that have failed. For the money the fit and finish just isn't there IMO.

I think the Helix is too new to tell. I have seen numerous issues from the vac cover cracks, units leaking, and internal engine issues.

All that being said I was hung up on staying DI only. I came across a great deal on a PI Intake manifold setup and gave it a shot. I have zero complaints or issues.

Oh yeah right, my single barrel bracket broke too, right at one of the bends, poor alloy being weakened by the bending process.
Fine after i welded/reinforced it.

i skipped the upgrade for now. i am still worried about the helix, maybe next year when more reviews and people have put some good mileage on them without issues i will bite. and for the single barrel i have seen 3 cases of broken brackets. i will run my setup as is with the fuel-it TBI and the changes to the VCV tables and don't think i will have a problem hitting 500hp for now on full e85. i remember 2 years ago someone hit 550 on e50 with TBI on the GC lites and that was prior to the tables being released. I have to reseal my LSD and then start the tuning process.
