Does not help that much. It would be better to find official BMW documentation like you found for 0x399 can bus message. Its too hard to guess what data is in other engine can bus messages as its not direct value, but converted or with factor...

Hi, where is this info coming from? Is there more of it for other K-CAN bus message ids? I am interested in decoding engine information (0x1B6, 0x1D0, 0x337, 0x3EF...) and other K-CAN bus messages.
That's from MDS81 technical docs, a link is posted in one of these threads, but I can't keep up with what is where anymore.

They don't have a breakdown of all messages, they do happen to have that M Drive one laid out though.

Thanks! That document is amazing! It seems to have descriptions of few DME output messages: 0x0A8, 0x0AA... But missing input messages. I wonder is there are more documents? for DSC/Gearbox/KOMBI? Any one knows where to find them?

I believe Shift light Coms have been identified yes
But unless the MSD81 broadcasts that signal (if at all) to same address the M3 KOMBI receives it, not much is going to happen, correct? I haven't really paid attention to this stuff in a couple years so I may be woefully uninformed at this point. I'm guessing a third party hardware/software could spoof the signal and have it work but not a factory solution?

Revs are broadcast, just the packets the KOMBI needs to see aren’t. A can shield could potentially do that.

That's a 1M DSC. It probably won't make a diff, but tried M3 ZB? At least they were around in 2007, might cross to DSC that vintage. Not sure if it would be problematic, but same error with boot sector update disabled?

It might still work. Expert, no boot sector, use 1M or M3 ZB, should get an info warning it's not a match, but can continue. It's not my car or the one taking the risk though :) I was under the impression the DSCs were basically all the same firmware layout-wise. 1M has a specific one-off HW number, but should update to it or M3 HW number after a successful flash IIRC.

VO build date should match what you want to change to. It might be alright for program, but definitely not coding.

ok i tested it and it didnt work, theres only one file in the dscm90 folder and same error...

on the bright side, i just got a sports szl installed and just picked up a m3 dct cluster for 125 ukp
still looking for good deals on a m3 dsc but havent made up my mind if i should be cheap and take the risk to test a post 09 non m 6 cyclinder dsc

Didn't work as in DSC flash failed? Mine is a 5/2010 build 2011 335is, I can flash M3 and 1M DSC no problem. If you're going to have to replace the entire hydraulic/control unit anyway, might hold out for an M3 version, but there's definitely a price premium.

Hi guys.I'm really interesting what you exploring.I have a 1M,I just want change my M button setting,Hold 5 or 10 seconds to active the DSC OFF. Is that possible by coding? My car build in 6/2012.
