I think it is too short sighted to make any assumptions on the development of anything in the auto industry. These things take time and cost money. I know that I am always interested following the progress of platforms and seeing improvements even if they are incremental. There is not a "perfect" kit out there and because of that there is always room for improvement.
Be appreciative that there are still companies looking to enhance the offerings out there. Without that things would become quite stagnant.
4+ years on the back burner is a different animal from "taking appropriate time" to develop parts. It's not short sighted to make judgements based on repeated observations from a company saying updates any day now then going quiet for over a year without following through.
No comment on the "be appreciative" bit.
