Thats great ! When all this started I said this guy was fullashit. Never responded , never wanted to fix the issue, blamed aftermarket coils that clearly I had purchased from him for not properly seating etc, etc. I am the one who caught the issue initially and shared it with others. Glad you are stepping up to correct HIS mistakes and sharing with others as well.Given the lack of any public assistance, response, or engagement by @Alex@BimmerLifeTuning I'll be solving the problem of also having been sold faulty Bimmerlife wiring harness. I've heard from others that one can spend more money to have the harnesses fixed, pay shipping both ways, et cetera - I say it that way since, as a customer, I've never been proactively contacted to be apprised of problems or possible solutions with the products I was sold.
Honestly the lack of outgoing direct communication with the existing customer base that has issues, and instead just leaving people with broken products to figure it out themselves, along with no public acknowledgement of issues with the BL coil kit coil fitment speaks for itself. It's sad when the price of one's reputation is so low.
I can't imagine paying more money for another overall low quality, mediocre Bimmerlife harness. In the next month or so I'll start a thread that walks people through how to build their own harness with construction and materials quality appropriate to our application.
In the meantime here are connectors that won't fail ...

I was about to pull the trigger on the harness as i already have the coils, after reading this i think i should wait and see how it goes and then decide.I can't imagine paying more money for another overall low quality, mediocre Bimmerlife harness. Yeah I'm not a fan of, ignore the customers you hosed unless they bitch approach. It is complete sleaze. First you proactively take care of the existing customers that paid you and believed in your product. Then you go out selling more product.
At this point I don't expect anything. Last time I contacted him, he told me his stuff worked great and "aftermarket" coils were likely the issue. When we dug in and found with measurement and demonstration that factory coils didn't fit he just laid low. Said nothing. Crumbling connectors. Nothing. But hey ... send more money, I have new stuff!

Hey I understand. I wouldn't be on the forums much either, @Alex@BimmerLifeTuning . At this point I've determined the solution to the faulty BL coils, and I have acquired connectors to build a new harness to replace the faulty one. I'll post the DIYs in hopes that the community helps itself. You can avoid the forums and stick to waiting for your customers to come back one by one when they eventually have misfires and stop chasing their tails trying to figure out why.

If you equate his actions on this board as "toxic", then I suggest you leave the internet and go back to your gun free safe space because there is nothing here that isn't going to trigger you.I sent my harness in this week for repair and honestly working with BL couldn't be simpler. They really are good people and true enthusiasts. Not sure why you're having so many issues, unless the reasoning is that you demand things be done in a particular way which you feel is best, which is absurd. You need to step outside, stare at the sky for 5 minutes and re-evaluate your toxicity. It's not helping the N54 community.
Ridiculous is my middle name...The Ridiculous Convert.Don't be ridiculous.

I’d like to see what you’ve done . Care to share ?I ended up making my own harness and converter that is not inside the valve cover. I personally don't think it is a good idea to have the electronics inside the head/valve cover area.
I will say when i went to modify my coils i burned myself alot the engine cover holds alot of heat.i had only driven 20 min to it was 80 degress out though.I ended up making my own harness and converter that is not inside the valve cover. I personally don't think it is a good idea to have the electronics inside the head/valve cover area.

@kayzrx82 Ditto. I'm about to do mine, but I was going to pull the ICs out of the harness and de-pot them. I have other cars that could use a new harness - it would be great if there was an alternative solution to the hardware. I agree having that stuff out from over the head is a good idea. But this would also get rid of the requirement for the one-off connector to the BMW harness, which houses the IC. At that point, we can build R8 harnesses with no proprietary pieces - everything can be ordered.I’d like to see what you’ve done . Care to share ?
