Advice on removing E89 headlight lenses?

I haven’t found any DIY instructions for removing and replacing the Z4 E89 headlight lenses. I have found that again this is not as easy as with the E90 headlights. Anyone have any tips on this? The lenses have been purchased and I don’t want to break the headlight body. As long as I get a few pieces of advice then I will upload pictures here. Let’s see if things go wrong and how much.

Are you lenses cracked?

Yes. Left side is cracked a little bit and dust and other crap is inside the headlight. The small crack is hidden under the bumper so it is not visible to the outside. At first I meant to polish the headlights, but since there is dirt inside the headlight, changing the lenses is a better option.

I've had to do this, and am unaware of any DIY for the E89 specifically? But I have done a number of headlight sets. You alluded to the E89 headlight not being like E90 ... have you tried disassembly? What's the issue?
