I assume you can buy the parts to make a retrofit..whether an alternative solution is a 3rd party cooler..if you do choose a retrofit then for sure the Mosselman does work…takes a good 10c-15c off what you would see otherwise..
Yeah, I'm definitely going to try and make the retrofit work because no oil cooler is a damn joke. My oil temps run at 240 - 245F (approx 115 - 117c) which is unacceptable. That will kill my motor a lot sooner. I was wondering why other people's N54s run cooler than mine.. Now I know. At least my motor only has 38k on it. Not bad for a 2009 if you ask me..

Just curious, but around what temps does your Z4 run at? Regular to rough driving?
Sounds like I'd need to buy an upgraded oil cooler and try and find someone who knows how to retrofit it on. I'm going to buy the OEM style filter housing you have and see what I'd need to do. Maybe I can figure it out on my own.
BTW, love the yellow on your Z4 my man! Looks great! My Z4 didn't even come with the engine bay painted.. I can't really complain since I bought the car with 20k miles on it for $20,000 5 years ago. Was an absolute steal. The dealership priced it improperly and the owner came up to me in the midst of the sale and tried to tell me that they can't sell it to me at that price and it was a fault on their end. I stood my ground and told them that they have to honor the listed price hah.
