2FCA/2FDA codes after Stage 2 LPFP install

Installed a stage 2 LPFP last night. Primed the pump with ProTools before starting. Went to the gas station. Immediately noticed the car takes longer to start. Checked the codes and now have 2 shadow codes. Any ideas? Datalog below.

2FDA Fuel high pressure bei oder nach Freigabe der Einspritzung

MHD v7.1 E40

Ignition Off -> Prime pump -> Start -> Idle -> Shutdown

Thanks for the advice. I’ll be upgrading both my fuel pressure sensors in the next week or so. Certainly replacing my old version gold LPFP Sensor with the newer silver version seems to make sense. Hopefully my 2AAF code will FINALLY go away.
And of course I’ll reset the High Pressure Fuel System Adaptations and wait 30 seconds etc. Why did you say to reset throttle adaptations?

You need to reset not only the hpf system but also the throttle. The throttle requires 30 sec procedure.

Press reset throttle mhd.
Take key out.
Let car die down. Stick key in. Press start to activate ignition phase 1 no running motor.
Wait 30 seconds. Press start button with brakes to ignite.

If you have flexfuel, resetting hpf adaptations may yield steange behavior for a little bit. But it should fix itself in a few minutes.

I will heed your advice.

I changed mine when I replaced my hpfp first time. Both sensor were changed to be sure there was no guessing. Then again both sensors replaced when changing hpfp and stage 2 lpfp. my care is at 130k miles currently. first change was at 70k miles when hpfp went out on me.

These are logs in different situations this morning. The most disturbance is the last one on the freeway at almost WOT. Note the fluctuations in the LPFP pressure. In the car though, it is smooth as butter and pulls like a train. I don't know if this is related to the port injection AIC controller etc... but as long as it is smooth and strong with zero hiccups, I'm good. I

Actually, looked at the "fluctuations" of the LPFP at super high throttle and they are not fluctations...it's only an optical illusion caused by the zoomed in scale. If you look at it from single scale with the other parameters...the LPFP pressure is much smoother. 85% highest and 65% lowest points...within nominal values.

Now, my friend @matreyia , you should know by now we don’t post .csv files anymore on Spoolstreet. Either post Datazap links, or better yet the new and improved Spoolstreet Datalogs, as I’ve done here for your “Accelerate String Freeway” pull this morning, which shows your LPFP bouncing around ~64-84psi, almost as much as mine when WOT.

Yes, I saw that. The tank is full of 93 octane. I try to switch back and forth each week so as to keep it used to both fuels. I don't know if the spiking is due to 93 octane...will do another log after the tank is full e85.

{sheepishly}...I never got around to installing the lpfp and hpfp pressure sensors but will be doing it soon.

You would save yourself so much time if you just eliminate the sensors. There is nothing anyone can guess if the sensors are not eliminated.

I agree. A new lpfp Sensor has been sitting in my “parts to install box” for a few months now. The HPFP Sensor is on its way to me right now from FCPEuro. Now I am motivated to change them.

If you want to go AN style...I think Radium and Racetronix have what you need to do the job. You can get all crazy and try to do it in-tank by installing the check valve on the 535 fuel pump barb or you can take a little easier path doing something similar to what I've done externally. Assuming your drivers hat has a 5/16 QD male, pick up one of these from Racetronix and go from there with -6AN push-lock fittings and hose.

Radium Universal Check Valve (the one I installed -6AN kit)

Radium Fuel Pump Barb - Check Valve
I think I understand what you are saying but just to be clear, if I buy the parts from the top two links that should be all I need and the bottom link is if I want it to go on the pump inside the tank?
