Such a wonderful build! FWIW, I gave serious consideration to a 3076, but went with a Gen2 GTX3576r with a MOTIV mani on my 1M. I,too, am very happy with my set-up.

Neil

I thought about going with the 3576. I really don't think you can go wrong in the range of 3076 to 3582. Woud love to see a dyno graph or log if you wouldn't mind!
I'm very interested in Garrets new G-series turbos... The Motiv manifold is v-band, right? Would be awesome to see the G30-770 on there.

Looks awesome, any logs to share?

Thanks! Yeah, lots of logs. I'll save the basic 3rd gear pull logs for when it's running 100%. Doing more logging and tuning this week on e30 which should look a lot better.

Meanwhile, here's a full session at the track. Temps are a lot easier to control with the single turbo, as I'd imagined.

Any chance you could add an update section to your first post in this thread with a complete parts list for your build? Even though my car will never be more than a street car, I look to you track guys to make sure I overbuild thermal systems rather than under build. Thanks!

Oof, that's a big ask. Let me take a stab at it. Nothing too crazy on this car for thermal systems. Add efficiency, help heat get out, call it a day.

Update: Was close to running my 1:52 lap, but caught up to a buddy in his Vette and he slowed me down at the fastest part of the track unfortunately.
Still a PB, but I'll be back to get it on the 28th and 29th.

Car ran great all day. Changing to E30 and 16psi has kept the stock HPFP happy, and @WedgePerformance has nailed the tune. He's been here since I started tracking this car and it's been a great experience.

Nice lap, did you remind your friend he was slowing you down? :)

Yes, he's well aware. Apologized too. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to run all day and had to catch a flight that evening, but still managed to set the 5th fastest time of the day and won 2nd place in the time attack challenge for my class.

Nice lap indeed. Congratulations on the trophy!

Took a peek at your datazap. New log looks super clean. Not a single timing correction.

forget that those are public. Yes, tune is spot on. Car is very happy where it is and I’m about at the limit of what these tires can take. Only other thing I may do is set a scramble button up for the boost controller to do a 5 second boost at 20psi for straights.

Saw the new hoonigan vid with your car, loving the transition you've made from the e92. Tell them more 135 content would be cool, less of Ron's evo ;)

Was actually going to post this if you didn’t. Watched it the day they posted it. Good vid...just wish he was a little more of a gear head and focused a little more on all of the individual components. Maybe a build vid on the main channel???

Yeah it's tough -- mixture of more details and actual video shots of the details instead of the photos that come up on the screen would have been nice lol
No main channel vid because they're not really filming those at the moment and the car is for sale. As much as I adore it and have poured a ton into it, baby on the way, house purchase inbound, and I just want to do too much to this car to be more competitive in TA. I picked up an e92 m3 to keep things simple for a while.

Congrats on the awesome car and amount of work that went into it. I saw the video pop up on YouTube and thought I recognized it!

Bummer about letting it go... but it's a bit extreme for a family car. :p

Are you going to build up the M3 at all? Light mods? Going to document it? :)

Ha, doesn't need to be quite a family car -- I've got a 4Runner too, but in general, something a little less complex and special will be nice for a while.
I picked up a 2008 E92 stripper package -- white, carbon roof, cloth seats, no EDC, no nav. This one came with StopTech BBK front and rear, blown stock shocks, missing front endlinks and was in need of general TLC and maintenance. Couldn't pass the deal up.

The plan with is pretty basic -- focus on mechanical grip and lighten it up a bit. I'll start a new build thread somewhere for it. A friend of mine really wanted to wrap it, and since there are so many white E92's at the track already, I figured it was time to do a british racing green e92 :)

Doing a full suspension overhaul, did all the maintenance including rod bearings, bolt ons and tune. I'll throw some recaro's in it and enjoy.
Will be interesting to see how much slower it is around Buttonwillow with 130whp less and and 200 lb-ft less, with an extra 200lbs haha. Sure does sound good though!

Oh... man... that sounds like a wild and fun ride both figuratively and literally. As I have aged with my 335is I have wanted the simplicity of an M3 at least for less things to tinker or replace. Finding an M3 to bring back to top shape is great for you, can enjoy that simplicity but also have something to do! :)

I look forward to the next build, even if minor. Love the journey the 1 went through.

Well, that’s a bummer...how much are you going to be asking for it? Will you be selling as is, or willing to sell some of the minor upgrades?
