I also think the people breaking the pinion are people who are launching their cars but I could be wrong. Either way, someone mentioned to me, I forget who, that euro cars have a U joint type connection instead of the pinion nut. So if you could get a driveshaft and a pinion from one of them, maybe there is an upgrade option. Another thing to note, is the S55 DCT has the same final drive as the N54 6AT(3.46). We would be talking custom axles and other stuff I'm sure, but I figured I'd bring it up.

starting to think about this again.

From DiffsOnline - this is saying they will change the ratio to 2.81 for the tiny sum of $2,834 (doesn't even include any LSD at this cost) :dizzy:

Ok... so this is getting over $3,000 no matter which way I look at it so it ain't gonna happen.

Hopefully some progress is made in figuring out the software side of it to make the FD work with the flash.

Does the Z4 use the E46 diff? Do you know the ring gear size by any chance?

I think it is - I have no idea on the ring size unfortunately

Considering a Z4 35i manual diff (3.08) or a Z4 28i automatic diff (3.08) but then have to try and figure out the drive shaft/output shafts etc.

3.08 might be a but much with the DCT trans though

I think the implication is that you might be able to use a different ring and pinion from the same size diff, closer to the 2.9 that @LMB335is has. You dont need the M3 ratio, just one close enough it doesnt throw its toys out of the pram

Z had been wrecked prior to me getting it and the headlights, hood, front bumper has an alignment issue that makes me a little disappointed every time i see it :frowning:
You own a Z4. Literally it is a kit car built by BMW. I don't think you would be happy with how things line up on the car if it rolled off the assembly line. Mine was virginal when I got it and it looked like a kit car.
