oh and first things first, make sure the rain trays below the windshield have been replaced, as they like to crack over time and they leak water onto the top of the engine. It then drains through the two rear bolts holding the dress cover on, and down around the #5 and #6 injectors, eventually rusting them out and causing failures. At $330 each its worthwhile to prevent them from failing.
Your entry point of $10k is going to get you either very high mileage LCIs or a pre-LCI model, which IMO doesnt look as good and has the older/smaller I drive. There are some great deals out there right now, I believe the guys from tunemyeuro.com (Andrew Rodriguez) may have a fully worked truck for something like $13k. Has a lot of hwy miles but Id buy anything from him, hes a great guy and a great mechanic.
