Raising the passenger side of the engine is not going to lower the height of the TB due to the design of the manifold and location of the drivers side engine mount.

Get a nut tie it to a string and suspend it just above the TB of the hood then loosen the engine mount and raise that side of the engine

The way the tb on that manifold is positioned, it will make no significant difference to its height, try and see for your self.

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else has the VTT forward facing manifold? I attempted to install mines but was faced with hood clearance issues. The hood seems to rest on top of the TB/charge pipe area not allowing me to close my hood. There's roughly about a 3" gap between the hood and the bumper. The tighter the nuts to the block go the higher the manifold raises up, this gives my TB clearance away from the altenator but raises it high enough to cause hood closing issues. There's nothing I can find online or anyone else sharing anything else that I can find so hopefully someone can shed some light on this one for me. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I have same issue. Do you fix it?

Like most VTT products fucked in some way and horrible customer service. They could fix their issues with this manifold but why when they can keep selling junk that needs to be modified to fit and refuse returns.

It has had garbage fitment from day 1.

A review from another lucky owner of this manifold: "The charge pipe is a funny story, their original charge pipe was really poorly designed so I had to modify it and a Doc Race charge pipe in order to make it work. I had a few issues that they didn't want to rectify. For example the fuel rail placement on the FF design is not very good, I had to modify the rail so it wouldn't hit the factory fuel rail. The rail they sent me also came tapped crooked so I had to weld one of the fittings on, Vargas support is really bad. I also don't like how they clocked the TB flange."

Everyone who buys this manifold has fitment issues one way or another.

OP cut your hood(Which is bullshit and should not have to be done) or sell it. Better yet do a charge back on your credit card because VTT knowingly sold you a garbage fitting manifold and refused return. How would you know it fits like shit until you install it? The return policy is designed to fuck the consumer. If you were smart and bought through PayPal via your credit card you now have an extra level of protection and PayPal is really good to their customers. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

Oh so others don't get bent over you should write a review on the various forums and on social media to warn people so others don't get stuck in your situation. Otherwise this will just continue to happen to the next guy.

edit: VTT has known about these fitment issues for over 4 years. Shameful.

The change the design a bit to fit inlets 🤦🏾😂🤣 Cant make this shit up
Nope it's not that as the TB electronics will get in the way for inlets, no idea on why the design change but it's not a good one
and it will not fly in oz due cutting the major hood support bars and its an instant red sticker defect which means must be towed.

There are few post about why the change of the design and that was vtt answered 🤷🏽‍♂️ regardless fitment is shitty asf.

Any links ?

But

When it was made by fab factory in the USA it was a work of art, most guys complained it was to expensive when FF made it and whinged and moaned.

When you don't support companies that make quality products they move on and you end up with this shit show.

I recall seeing those posts too but can't seem to find them, was probably on FB or something. Comparing the two there appears to be some differences. The throttle body on the VTT version is rotated counterclockwise a bit and runners are a different shape, maybe the whole thing sits higher as a result.

Definitely remember seeing it in a post and thinking ppl running this manifold wont be running inlets 10 of 10 lol. The manifold definitely sits a lot higher that FF
Here is a pic of line for reference, tb should be a lot closer to the alternator to fit right.

Fucked 6 ways from Sunday. I love the 'Tony says they all fit fine' line. What a joke. Guy knows they fit like shit. Always have.
Kudos to that guy for making it fit, but what a scam they sell this as fitting n54, and do nothing to help rectify the situation for the customer when it clearly does not fit. Shameful.

and damages customer's hoods, and potentially has fuel leaks/fuel rail problems etc. It's a prime example of the quality of products VTT sells. The fact they know all the issues over 4+ years of selling them and they do nothing to rectify them...well just par for the course with VTT: Pure J U N K.

Such a shame really.. glad I found a good deal on a used eospeed manifold.

You can see in these pics the FF unit has a bigger angle in the runners, angling the whole tank down more so the TB is lower and clears.

Just read Marty's thread about the intake he made with plazma man, and was going to have VTT distribute. That looked really nice. Whatever happened to that? Did VTT replace it with this?

It's expensive and does not come with a chargepipe, wire harnesses, or injectors last I checked. You might even have to pay for a fuel rail. IIRC like $1800 starting more like $2600 when all said and done. You have to buy injectors and have someone fab up a charge pipe and extend the wires etc.

As VTT is somehow involved in it there is a good chance they can fuck something up beyond the issues I listed above.

Why you would sell an IM with no way of connecting it to the intake tract is beyond me. You could pray this fits I guess? Or use it to start the fabrication work: https://precisionraceworks.com/products/charge-pipe-for-n54-forward-facing-manifold
