@Rob@RBTurbo what's a rebuild on stockers go for these days? Also any opinions on longevity one might expect on a FBO 400-ish WHP kind of setup? Assume a few hundred extra for things that one refreshes on the reassembly ...

We sell the RB OEM's for $999 plus refundable core plus shipping in complete form (cheaper CHRA DIY offerings are also available). They have been basically bulletproof since intro 11/2016 with north of 300 sets sold (including the RB OEM/RB OEM Billets complete AND the Do-It-Yourself/DIY CHRA's).

To date we have only seen 2 sets of all the above offerings come back (both the risky to sell DIY setups) with customer issues as the cause. All in all great product, very reliable, and cheap; not often do you get all of those wrapped up in one. We assume many push these hard, some harder than others; but we recommend the RB OEM's for up to 400whp and RB OEM Billets for up to 425whp. Beyond these goals and if efficiency/longevity is of any concern, it is just time to buy a larger setup (despite what one may read on the internet).

Finished the install of my kit. Like a lot of people have said fitment is really tight. I wish o2 heat sinks fit on this kit but Jeff told me they might make a batch of heat sinks to fit the manifold so hoping that happens.

Waited a little less than 2 months delivered to my door but Jeff’s customer service is amazing. Answered all my emails even though some of them were just badgering him on when the kit would ship.

Making the mounting holes wider, and adding 3-4 copper washers let me use both bolts on the expansion tank and the fitting is now above the outlet, if anyone else ran into that :)

Just about finished with mine. Started her up to check for leaks and moving onto installing subframe. I did have some small issues along the way but nothing terrible. Will provide more details when I get time on my computer.

Few more pics it’s just hanging in there everything still loose motor not mounted! So far everything fits nicely! But again nothing really tight yet so we will see what tomorrow brings!!! Enjoy the pic guys and gals...

Btw I did not take out subframe or V-brace install instructions says take out subframe pre-assemble turbo and manifold! To much work lol ;)

nothing to report. Shit works.

logs sent to Motiv to move on from spring pressure just waiting to hear back, car feels like a stock car on the base map. Just doesn't stop around 5500.

The ADV's jeff supplies are working great. Also used the correct connector for them so no splicing.

The s257 seems to come to life around 2900rpm in 3rd (stock cat back, 11lb flywheel, 6mt), but still on the base map.

I was curious, do the EFR turbine housings come with a native t4 inlet?

Unlike the the s257 which has a t4 footprint, with t3 inlet dia.

It was a pita to port it out to match a t4 gasket, without creating a throat, but it is possible :)

S257 is pretty much the same as the EFR 7670, minus the upgraded CHRA and turbine material. A bit laggy below 2.5k rpm, but pulls all the way to the redline.

Anyone tried this kit with the newer G series turbo from Garrett? They are fairly compact and flow really well, would be perfect for this platform.

7670 comes with T3 single scroll and T4 twin scroll. But efr turbos are pain in the ass to fit on these cars due to its size.

I was mainly just wondering if ran into that with your efr because a ledge like that would definitely have an effect on spool.

Totally agree too, I dont see an EFR turbine housing fitting, but.... BW sells an SXE style comp and turbine housing for most of the EFRs. If the S257 ever kicks the bucket I think that will be the next venture :)

Btw love the new vids on your build, I can't wait to get this one dialed in with motiv and hit the ridge and Oly peninsula.

As far as I can tell from the schematics. http://www.turbos.bwauto.com/files/pdf/dimensional_reference/efr/EFR 7670-D.pdf. It looks like a proper T4 flange to me. Although I don’t think the shop who did the install ever double check.

I actually ordered the Speedtech N55 kit with the 7670 last week. I spoke with you about the turbo awhile back. I'm already dreading trying to bottom mount this thing.

I don't have a new G series but I did choose to use a GTX3582R Gen2 for my Speedtech kit. It was a little tight with the water pump and thermostat housing but you can see I had a good amount of space between the turbo and frame rail when test fitting.

I don't have a new G series but I did choose to use a GTX3582R Gen2 for my Speedtech kit. It was a little tight with the water pump and thermostat housing but you can see I had a good amount of space between the turbo and frame rail when test fitting.


Do you have more pics of your oil drain? Looks different

Yes, see attached.If you want a different angle let me know and I will see what I can do. It definitely was different from the directions. I pre-ordered the kit last October or November. Not sure what would have made mine different.

Did you have to move the water pump with the GTX? Or does every turbo require it be moved...
It's a tight fit but I did not have to move the water pump. As you can see in the second image, everything is in it's factory location. The only thing I did was cut a little off the "U" shaped pipe that goes from the pump to the thermostat housing. This allowed me to bring the hose in a little closer giving more clearance for everything else.

I'll report if the water pump can retain the stock location with the precision 6062 when i get to my build.
Nice setup 135isleeper, I plan to wrap everything similar to yours.

I don't see the inlet fitting with pretty much any turbo and the water pump in it's original home, the relocation bracket worked find for me, fan fit etc... I would just use it :)

Thanks Jimbo, looks like 135isleepers had some success up above doing so.. Although I'm pretty sure the gtx series is a tad smaller than a precision, but I'll report.
I'm not at all against using the modified location per the manual, but if I can get away with stock placement then that's a bonus.
