N54 SOLVED: MOTIV / MHD FlexFuel Readiness Issues?

Yes, do not use vals over 14.67 - 14.7. This can prevent readiness because it is looking for the proper voltage from the rear o2's at the same time, and they are closely calibrated around stoich, so running 15.x will always keep them out of range when it's doing the check (right around where you changed them).

This worked!
I got Catalyst : Ready just within the first half of the official drive cycle. Funny, I didn’t need to drive on the highway at all.
So for anyone else having Catalyst readiness issues, make sure each of your cells in the main fuel table and E85 main fuel table in the FlexFuel folder are at ~14.671 below ~75 load, below ~4000 rpm, and keep rpms below 3000 while babying the car during the drive cycle.

Of course when I flashed the revised table all of my readiness flags were reset to Not Ready so another drive cycle was required:

I flashed it yesterday, ran some errands and then this morning started the drive cycle. And I had just completed the 20-30 mph / 3min 15s portion and checked the Readiness codes and voila! Everything except Evap was ready. I didn’t need to do the highway portion. Lucky me!

Hello, so I to need evap ready. Maryland requires everything be ready. If I’m reading correct I need to disconnect flex fuel and flash a map that doesn’t use it?

Thanks. I unplugged it and put wires back. My tuner (Chris) hasn’t gotten back to me with a tune that doesn’t use flex fuel. Think I’ll be ok? I have no flex in there anyway as we are just getting started with the tuning and then my emissions came up lol

You base map was probably an FF map which will prevent it from readiness even when the wires are returned to stock.

I seem to be having more trouble getting OBDII readiness now that I have MOTIV / MHD FlexFuel installed (N54 stock catted DPs ) .
Both
Catalyst: INCOMPLETE
Evaporative System: INCOMPLETE
Last year very similar tunes and presumably same toggles and passed.
Anyone else having similar issues?

Also check all connections on charge pipe and throttle body and those were messed with as well. I was getting that throttle code and it was a loose maf sensor wite

Like rpm fluctuations bad? I had the same. Make sure maf sensor on chargepipe in on and tight. Check wires and make sure they are good. Reset throttle adaptions

Yes it's ideling very bad. I'll adjust that again to.. then reset throttle adaptation. Thank you

I recall the throttle body / oscillating rpm issue sometimes occurs if you start the car too soon after flashing. To avoid this I always count 20 seconds after flashing, then press button ignition off, count 20 seconds, then completely off / key out, count 20 seconds.

Hey guys. Update. So car started up. . As noted reset adaptation on throttle. I didn't drive it but it's ideling and seems smooth. I'll have to check tonight to drive it to ensure is 100%. But thanks for all the help and recommendations. I have two questions. I do have stage 2 lpfp. But no port injection.. what are most guys getting away with gallons of e85. I was thinking being it's 16 gallon tank... Maybe 5-8 gallons.. also... Iv done it before.. Can't find a thread on it but im trying to change my gauges on my mhd monitor. I have 8. I thought u hold down the gauge and switch it.. But it says I have to many and need to remove one. I want the 8 up on monitor just want to switch the gauge to monitor.. or do I start with the minimal amount and add from there. Thanks!

Side note. I have a high kick rear carbon wing for say which is in 100% condition. Anyone interested let me know. Its for e90. Thanks again guys!

Glad to hear your engine started.
I have stage 2 LPFP no PI and use no more than E50 or E60 which the car loves, which means about 8.5-10 gallons of E85 and the rest E10 gasoline (I prefer 93oct). Your E85 from the pump could actually be E70 or lower, but that’s the great thing about MHD / MOTIV FlexFuel - it automatically adapts for you.

To see eight monitors on MHD make sure the parameters you want to see on the display are checked. Uncheck any you don’t need to log since you are limited in number to something like 30, I forget exactly the number.
