Once this is public released and has had all the fine tuning done I'll have to ditch the JB4 and make the switch!
Totally worth it. I tuned a buddy's car with just straight MHD and I was so jealous of how smooth the car ran all around compared to my JB4 backend through MHD.Once this is public released and has had all the fine tuning done I'll have to ditch the JB4 and make the switch!
There is nothing that Motiv has that others wont/dont have access to, everything is released in public XDF's. I am currently testing something for Jake Y only (Motiv aside) that will be public once its finished. Its just a logic change of axis, however using MAF as it stands will have the same result. The changes in work will just simplify what BMW has made difficult. I have set up PID for a few different set ups with different WG springs, turbo size, kits, etc and all effect how it works. Jake H and i have spent some dyno time adjusting them for each. So it is NOT a one size fits all. There is to many variables when it comes to ST kits. Just like how if you want top performance out of your JB4 you really need to adjust each setting individually. PID gain, DWP, FF, etc doesnt work perfect for each set up.
The nice part of it all is when your flashing and you want a little more power you just move that load slider in the MHD flasher to a higher or lower value and let PID take over. The way we restructured tunes to compensate for different load values will work in conjunction. So its as close to OEM structuring as you can get with infinite values for every single little thing. Instead of the stock tune being able to adjust for any boost pressure between -xx and +22.0psi the ST flash from Motiv will do -xx to +36/44psi. Its taken a LOT of work and there is zero secret sauce involved other than our tuning techniques to optimize power.
So to clarify:
I am currently beginning a single turbo tune with no PI(motiv, just for reference). Does this mean I can ditch the jb4 completely and just have them send me a flash only map? I'm asking here because Jake H takes a few days between responses and I'd like to at least get on a base map (the one he sent didn't match my vin -__-).
The group would consist of every ST car owner, hahaha. Are you guys going to do a group buy
Yup, exactly what Double said. Car will drive like it rolled off the German plant with a single turbo. F'n awesome. So to clarify:

Jake will be getting a little extra help here shortly so tune turnaround should be much quicker. There's so much going on at Motiv dev wise that it's absorbing a lot of time.So to clarify:

Any update to the time frame of the boostbox?
As of right now I'm not sure, it won't really be an expensive product to begin with so we'll see.Are you guys going to do a group buy

That is incredibly smooth!I threw my production beta Boostbox on Jimmies car for the 1/2 miles today. Motiv Boostbox with mac valve + Motiv tuning + CKI/Motiv PID control = some of the best, most consistent ST boost targeting. No tapering auto redux, no spikes and a very stock like appeal. I literally just copied and pasted my setting from my cars twin scroll 6466 to the Smaller turbo option Motiv 750 kit and it worked beautifully. This was the first time i ran PID on the smaller turbo Motiv kit and on a AT. I'm quite impressed TBH considering its very far off from stock values. The Mac valve seems to be handling everything just fine. Be on the look out for Boostbox release in the next week

Yeah, any xdf changes will be public like it's always been.
Like exhaust burble tables?

Pretty sure the burble was never part of the xdf. And was done via mhd flash options.
