Well this took long enough...

I am excited to see new products being introduced for the N54 but the price is probably going to be insane.

"They just finished heat treat and will go to final grinding next. I'm told they should be ready to ship by the end of November. There will be 3 profiles. 264 degree, 268 degree low lift, and 268 high lift. Fish batch is 5 sets of each. Price hasn't been released yet."

Is this legit legit? Or another typo...

Apparently it's legit. Not sure what the wait time looks like to get them though.

All those parts yet not a single N54 car with a dyno.

Yea it's interesting that none of these built motors are posting big dyno numbers yet. Seems like the highest horsepower n54 right now is that guy in Tampa posting kill videos, and he has a stock motor...

For the tuners, how does this fit in to the whole vanos tuning? how much could we possibly have to gain on this?

That's what I'm thinking. VANOS has a pretty good range of adjustment, not sure if these will be worth the gains for 99% of owners.

On the few other platforms I've owned, when boosted, cams didn't make much of a difference.

Cams will help, especially on builds looking to rev higher with head work. That alone allows for the use of larger turbochargers, which would also see benefit from larger cams. At a certain point just turning up the boost looses effectiveness; with vanos there's fewer drawbacks anyway (other than cost) so why not. These will help get to the 1,000 mark for those so inclined.

This is what's really needed to get the ported heads to show gains. Ported heads that flow more at higher lift paired with cams that actually operate there is the key.

Open source guys are gonna need to be ready for table defining... we are starting to get products that will greatly effect the n54's VE. Things behind the scenes that haven't been an issue may start to come to the surface.

Looking forward to specs and pricing. Good stuff.

Were you ever going to offer cams? I thought I remembered you saying a while back that you could make cams.

Would these require the use of an uprgraded valve spring as well? I would think they would offer a kit with cams and springs. the greater the lift the more likely you are to have valve float correct?

Completely agree here.

once you start revving out higher, stronger valvetrain parts will be needed. Im not sure what the seat pressure is on the stock N54 springs because i never looked. but with that info, one could determine the need of higher seat pressure springs.

All upgraded valvetrain parts are currently available, and honestly not overly priced. I just got a full set of Ferrea Valve springs, and titanium retainers for about a grand for our closed deck motor that is being rebuilt to fix the problems it had when we got it. We are already spinning out stock head motor with a built bottom end to 7600 with no problems, it could prob take 7800. We will take this next motor over 8K with the help of the lighter valvetrain. Cams should be helpful as well. I am sure we will end up with a set at some point to do before, and after testing.
